Vail Pride Day Used Book Sale What exactly is the event? During Vail Pride Day the VEF will be sponsoring a used book sale where softbound books will be sold for $.50 and hardbound books will be sold for $1.00. Books will be collected from Monday January 7, 2013 until Friday January 18, 2013. Books will need to be counted and a tally completed for each teacher/site. Books will be brought to the District office. Books will be sorted between Monday January 21 and Wednesday February 13. United Van Lines will transport books to the Pima County Fair Grounds on Thursday February 14, 2013. How will the schools benefit? All VEF portions of the will be used throughout the District. Schools can earn a percentage of the proceeds based on percentage of books contributed to the event. How can schools participate? Schools are encouraged to collect as many books as possible. The more books collected the higher the percentage of the revenue Communicate to parents about the sale and inform them that the school will benefit with every book sold. The more books sold the higher the school’s portion. Teachers, Administrators, Librarians, Student Councils, NJHS, NHS, PTAs and other clubs can help sort books at the school or District office. We would like each school to work one shift (4pm to 7pm) at the District office. Volunteer Coordinators can assist be tallying books by class and oversee sorting of books at the school and the District office. How can Teachers/Volunteers benefit? The teacher at each school that collects the most books will receive a $20 gift card to the event. The principal of the school with the highest per student collection will receive a $50 gift card to the event. All teachers will be given first opportunity at the event to purchase items. (Friday after the teacher luncheon) All Volunteers will have the opportunity to “shop” after the teachers on Friday before the general public.
