MHow To Speak Without Moving Your Lips

What is ventriloquism?

Ventriloquism is the

art of producing

vocal sounds that

appear to come

from another source

(e.g. from a wooden

dummy).

So how did ventriloquism begin? • Ancient times: The earliest record of

ventriloquism being used was in the sixth century B.C. at a temple built by Greeks in Delphi.

• Originally, ventriloquism was a religious practice.

• VENTRILOQUISM Latin: to speak

from the stomach - venter (belly), loqui

(speak). Earlier known as belly

speakers.

• The Greeks called this gastromancy.

‘Never trust a ventriloquist or a Barber’

AUTOMATOPHOBIA

• Irrational fear, persistent and intense to mannequins, ventriloquist dolls, electronically animated creatures or

wax status.

• People who suffer from this illness cannot go to museums, churches,

shopping centers, theme parks or to get close to certain public monuments.
