VERTEBRATE CHARACTERISTICS
THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF VERTEBRATES
Vertebrates are a group of animals with an internal skeleton articulated.Have the following characteristics:Spinal column are formed by a series of articulated parts or vertebrate,.The body is divided into head, trunk and extremities. There are different sex, there are the female and the male. The vertebrates are classified into five groups:Mammals.Birds.Fish.Amphibians.Reptiles.
THE NERVOUS SYSTEM The nervous system is a network of tissues of origin and the basic unit is the neuron. Its primary function is to quickly capture and process the signals exerting control and coordination over other bodies.
THE SENSE ORGANS With respect to the organs of the senses, touch,
smell, sight, taste and hearing are the main weapons that mammals have to occupy.
THE TOUCHThe feel is more developed in mammals than in other vertebrates, reaching significance in some specieS.This sense acquires considerable importance for many species that live underground.
THEIR HEARThe anatomical complexity of the mammalian ear hearing suggests these animals .The ear of modern mammals is formed by a fold of skin and cartilage called the pinna or , a relatively small tympanic membrane , a middle ear contains three tiny bones of the middle ear and the inner ear .
THEIR SMELLSmell is one of the most important senses in most mammalian species because it not only provides information about what is happening , as does what has happened and what is to come.
THEIR BODIESCOVERING
Their bodies is covered with scales, hair, feathers or smooth skin.
THE WAYS OF BREATHE OF THE
VERTEBRATEVertebrate breathe in different ways. For example: some have got lungs(for example: snake) and some have got gills(for example: frog). But some breathe air with their skin.
THE REPRODUCTION(OVIPAROUS)
Oviparous animals are animals that reproduce by laying eggs. This is how most fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and arachnids reproduce. All birds and monotremes also reproduce like this.
THE REPRODUCTION(VIVIPAROUS)
Viviparous animals are animals that give live birth. This includes all mammals with the exception being the platypus who lay eggs.
