Ever since I was a child I’ve loved videogames. Starting from humble kid’s games I loved them more than anything; the great stories, the gameplay and interactivity, the amazing visuals, what’s not to love. As I grew older I still fell back on this love for videogames and started exploring more mature games which only added to my love of videogames. The stories got more in-depth, the gameplay was more refined and interactive, and the visuals got even better. Ever since I first played a videogame I wanted to be a part of the process and ideas filled my head. As I grew older I soon discovered that this dream may be nothing more than a dream; getting involved in such an industry seemed like nothing short of impossible and it turned into a distant memory. However, I then discovered crowd-funding and The HutchFunder and I suddenly filled with anticipation; perhaps this could be a reality.

So this is where I ask upon you, the kind-hearted people willing to fund my project, to help me.

But just what is it I’m wanting to achieve?

I’m aiming to start up my own videogame company “Vicious Entertainment”, we will hopefully be specialising in AAA-esque standard games; we may only be a small company but we aim big.

What are you funding (Supplies)?

For this project I will need funding for many supplies, this will mostly be for staff and equipment. The staff may include artists, programmers, designers and creative teams. And equipment may include computers, paying for a game-engine (i.e. Unreal Engine), stationary, an office and office supplies.

What am I actually going to make?

I have many creative ideas for the company and the games we will make. Also with your help I may be able to hire a creative team which will help me in creating enjoyable and immersive games. Some of the ambitious projects I have include:

An Open-World, Action-Adventure sci-fi game, where you will be able to have your own spaceship, travel to different planets, engage in combat and follow an intriguing storyline.

A First Person, Action-Adventure, and hopefully somewhat Open-World game taking place in the 17th century. It encompasses the legends of Vampires, Werewolves, etc. As you play as a Van Helsing-esque character; trying to hunt down these creatures and kill them. It will hopefully have Parkour elements and innovative gameplay, not to mention a great storyline.

An Open-World, Third-Person, Action-Adventure Superhero game, where you will encompass different characters with different abilities including the ability to use fire, the ability to use water, super strength and super speed. An innovative multiplayer mode will

also be included where you choose your own power and fight against other players in an arena.

Another idea for a game is a sci-fi, third-person, shooter/action game, in which aliens take over the Earth. This game should also have an immersive and intriguing storyline.

What will you (the backers) get in return?

As a way to say thanks for backing me and funding my project you will get varying awards based on your contribution.

$20-$100 - You will receive one of the games, we at Vicious Entertainment create, for free. You will receive a unique code that when entered shall give you the ability to get one game, of your choice, for free.

$100-$500 – You will receive two of the games, we at Vicious Entertainment create, for free. You will receive a unique code that when entered shall give you the ability to get two games, of your choice, for free.

$500 onwards – You will receive a bundle of free games, developed by Vicious Entertainment, ranging from 3-5 games depending on your contribution. You too shall get a unique code that when entered shall give you 3-5 games, of your choice, for free.

This highlights that all of the people who took my survey enjoy videogames. In general perspective, quite a few adults and females may not like videogames, but most boys of this age enjoy videogames.

This highlights that most people who took my survey didn’t have a preference and enjoy both AAA and indie games. For my product I shall be attempting to make AAA-esque games, so this doesn’t really cause any problems.

As seen by these responses the majority of people enjoy Action-Adventure games. As I am aiming to specialise in this field these results are good.

The responses for this question were quite diversified, but Gameplay and Story were the top 2 responses. I am aiming to incorporate all of these elements in my products, with a large emphasise on story. So these results are good.

Almost all of the respondents answered ‘yes’. This is good as my idea is to create a new videogame company.

Once again, almost all of the respondents said ‘yes’. This is good especially in regards to my funding through “The HutchFunder”.
