Dear Colleagues!
Lung transplantation (LuTx) is an esta-blished treatment for different forms of end stage lung diseases. The training and education of medical staff involved in this highly specialised treatment is of critical importance to achieve optimal results.
The programs in Toronto and Vienna, both high volume LuTx centers, offer a week full of an exceptional combination of clini-cal exposure to the ongoing programs, structured lectures and experimental wet lab lung transplantation, with use of ECMO and ex-vivo lung perfusion (EVLP). This unique educational format is based on the successful eight year experience of the Vienna Lung Transplant Academy that is now expanded to North America.
The course is designed for pulmonolo-gists, surgeons, anesthetists, coordi-nators and anyone else involved in the field. The intent is to appeal to colleagues from already existing programs, who wish to deepen their knowledge in specific aspects, as well as colleagues from pro-grams that are in the process of starting.
Participation will be limited to a total of 12 persons and acceptance will be based on a first come first serve basis.
We wish all participants an interesting and exciting week with our team,
