CCE Coyote Families,

We will be reading the book, Hogwash, by Karma Wilson and the students will be discussing the duties on a farm and how a farmer wanted his hogs to take a bath and what convinced him to change his thinking.

Please continue to work with your child on the sight words that I sent home.

We work on different levels of reading texts within our guided reading groups based on your child’s individual needs and levels. These groups are flexible and change based on needs and skill levels. We also work within small groups with our different levels of our math skills. Thanks for supporting these skills at home. It makes a difference in the classroom.

Special Requests: We need index cards for our sight words. Also, we are running out of glue sticks. Thank you so much for helping.

Please remember to send in the permission slips and chaperone forms and money for our field trip in May.

Again, thank you for all of your kind words and support.

IB-Learner Profile of the Month

.Knowledgeable: I am learning about myself and how to get along with others. I enjoy asking questions to learn about the world.

We have talked about this and the students made postcards that showed how they are being risk takers in their activities daily. We hung them up in our room because they are proud of working on these. We also are working on our new Inquiry theme of “How the World Works”. We had a great conversation of how the weather affects crops and people around the world. They wrote and illustrated these different ways and are displayed in the room. I am so proud of their work.

.IB students have a deep understanding of various cultures and views, bringing an appreciation of new views to both their academic study and their involvement in local and wider communities. Their international mindedness complements the PYP in all grade levels.
