Dear HQFUK Members and Friends

Regular practise of Health Qigong brings many positive effects on the body, mental health, and spiritual well-being and we aim to maximise the benefits by providing classes, events and opportunities to train with the best coaches from CHQA. All our tutors are qualified through Chinese Health Qigong Association CHQA) and the International Health Qigong Federation (IHQF).

New Website and email

We have now replaced both our old website and email contact details – for a short time both old and new sites will run concurrently, however the old sites will be phased out in the near future. Please ensure you make a note of the new contact addresses for both.

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

Bid for World Health Qigong Tournament and Scientific Symposium 2017

In late August I travelled to Jiuhuashan, Anhui Province China to represent London UK’s bid for the 2017 World Games and Scientific Symposium. There were 5 shortlisted cities, and 1 withdrew, and one was not shortlisted the second time. The results were disappointing but very close, he winning bid was from Holland –the results were The Hague, Holland 31 points, London UK 29 points, and Canada 17 points. Two factors may have come into play with the voting – London was a comparatively expensive bid as might be expected from a world class capital city, and the second may have been the Brexit factor – the voting came shortly after the Brexit vote to leave the EEC and this may have adversely influenced the European judges. Along with ourselves, many people at the Committee were disappointed in the decision.

IHQF Executive General Meeting 12-18 August 2016 In the same visit to Jiuhuashan, the International Health Qigong Federation Committee selections took place and I am pleased to say that I have been appointed as Deputy Director of the IHQF Information and Media Committee, a position I will hold for the next 4 years. From this position I will be able to continue to promote London and the UK for future events

2nd European Health Qigong Games 24-30th October 2016

These were held in Rouen France, and HQFUK and HQFUK sent a small but successful team, comprising Herman Wang, Tony Childs, Ya Fang Wan and Shiu Min Xing Between us we won team silver in the Ba Duan Jin, and 1 gold, and 4 silvers in individual events.
