AutoCAD Can save time in zooming and panning at the
expense of display accuracy. Can provide a highly accurate display at the
expense of zoom and pan speed. The main factor is the view resolution.

The view resolution is the number of lines used to draw circles and arcs. High resolution values display smooth circles
and arcs. Low resolution values display segmented
circles and arcs.

The variable VIEWRES Controls the display smoothness of circles
and arcs. It can vary between 1 and 20000. Default setting is 100. Produces a relatively
smooth curve. A number < 100 causes circles to appear
more “jagged”. A number > 100 causes circles to appear
smoother.

If speed is a concern, respond with Yes, and AutoCAD uses fast zooms. AutoCAD performs a REDRAW only when
zooming and does not perform a REGEN.

Being able to quickly specify and recall a certain part of the drawing is much easier than zooming or panning.

A view can be any portion of the drawing.

Aerial View is a navigation tool that lets you see the entire drawing in a separate window.

Auto Viewport Two settings: ON and OFF When ON, switching to a different tiled
viewport causes the new viewport to be displayed in the Aerial View window.
When OFF, the Aerial View window is not updated.

Restore: You can recall a view at any time. Type the view name or enter a “?” to get a list
of all of the views. Delete:

Join: permits merging one viewport with another one view is the dominant viewport; the other
viewport takes on the characteristics of the dominant one.

Tiled model space viewports are created with the VPORTS command.
