ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Master’s Thesis: “Impact of Measuring Instruments (Sensors) on Heat Transfer in Fuel Element”Place: Institute of Fluid Mechanics, Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), GermanyPeriod: Oct’14-May’15 Description: Studied the impact of sensors on heat transfer in wet storage system of Nuclear Fuel element. The
work was to evaluate the errors caused by the sensors in the experiments by simulating the experimental conditions using CFD principles and performing analytical calculations. Suitable correction factors were suggested and error estimation for error free measurements by analysing various heat transfer mechanisms such as conduction, convection & radiation was done.

Bachelor’s Thesis: “Flow Distribution Analysis in Inlet Header of Compact Plate Fin Heat Exchanger using Baffle Plate”
Place: Aeronautical Development Agency (Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India) Bangalore Period: Dec’11-Apr’12Description: Evaluated the effect of baffle plate in compact heat exchangers, the fluid flow and thermal
analysis was carried out using Fluent (Ansys Inc.) software. Heat exchanger’s internal core was simulated in fluent software by using well proven porous jump technique for analysis.
Project Title: “Experimental Investigation of Mechanical Properties of E-glass/ IsoThalic with Aluminum Oxide as Filler”
Place: VIT ChennaiPeriod: Jan’14-May’14Description: Evaluated themechanicalproperties of GFRPC composite with 15% and 25% fiber weight.
Properties such as tensile, flexural impact strength and hardness were evaluated.
