To get the most of your stay at Villa di Torno we recommenda skippered Venetian Taxi charter for the duration of yourstay. At Villa di Torno you can rise from your al frescobreakfast and stroll across the terrace to the short staircaseleading to the dock. Here is where Riccardo will be when youare ready for a shopping excursion to Bellagio, a guided tourof the Lakes famous villas and gardens, or a romantic eveningride to Comacina or Tremezzo for dinner overlooking theLake.

You can opt for private car if you like and have the pleasure ofstrolling through the village of Torno to reach the house.Torno is well known for its particularly lovely lake-front piazza,trimmed in plane trees and occupied by the bars andchurches comprising every Italian village. The town is quiet --several bars, some market stalls once a week, a small groceras well as a cheese shop plus a gelateria/pasticceria, ATM, gasstation. It is easy to 'get local' when you go out for a morningstroll. The lower reaches of Torno are closed completely tovehicles. The sounds are foot fall, conversation, the keys asthey turn two, three, then four times in the old-style locks setin the heavy doors.

Villa di Torno can accommodate 16 in comfort with 12 in theVilla and an additional four in the Mansarda, finished to anequivalent standard. The interior spaces are all more thanample, right down to the brand new fully built-out walk-inclosets. The spacious lakeside Conservatory is beautifullythought-out for relaxing as a group before dinner. Thekitchen is spacious enough for multiple cooks to share in ahands-on cooking class. An elevator eases access to theupper floors. Antonia lives around the corner and workstirelessly maintaining the house beautifully for your comfort.She is flexible, available, cheerful and willing to ensure amemorable stay and her colleagues are of a similarly fabuloustemperament. OVERVIEWVilla di Torno is all about the light and fresh air flowingthrough its fresh, elegant rooms. Multiple broad and talldouble doors function as portals inviting you to moveseamlessly in and out to a balcony or terrace and thesouthwesterly exposure. The view from each room isenchanting in its own way and you are never far from theappealing sounds of the lake and the town. From each roomyou can hear the gentle slap of the water along the private'pontile' just below the front terrace. At the neighboringprivate marina, the boats float restlessly in their slips, alwaysready to get out and about on this most seductive of all theItalian lakes.

All around is the majesty of Lake Como itself, greenmountains, stone cliffs, huddled villages, the famous Villad'Este. This splendid Neoclassical villa enjoys a very spacious lake-front terrace, a broad stone-paved piazza of sorts with theVilla as a backdrop, is where you will no doubt find yourselvesmorning, noon and night, enjoying views of Cernobbio andVilla d'Este and color-drenched sunsets. Between thebeautifully furnished outdoor living and dining spaces is themost modern and miraculous of swimming pools. Withcontrols no more complicated than an elevator button, astone-paved rectangle descends into water magicallyrevealing a pool. The exceptional subtlety of the technologyallows for a wading pool of no more than a matter of inches,or a proper heated pool for swimming. There is no morechild-friendly pool we know of.
