TRANSPORT ENGINEERING
FACULTY Some projects in sustainable transport area
2) In Logistics and Transport Management field:
BSR Programme ,,Connecting Authorities for Safer Heavy Goods traffic in
the Baltic Sea Region – C.A.S.H.“ The project brings together police officers
and other authorities inspecting Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) in the Baltic
Sea area. 2009-2012. Turku University, Finland.
ETCO program for the period 2007-2013 (Baltic Sea Region Programme).

TRANSPORT ENGINEERING
FACULTY
Projects on sustainable transport area
topic • FP 7 BESTFACT - to develop, disseminate and enhance the utilisation of best practices and
innovations in freight transport that contribute to meeting European transport policy
objectives with regard to competitiveness and environmental impact. 2012-2016. PTV Group
AG, Germany.
• FP7 eMar - to make maritime transport safer, more secure, more environmentally friendly
and more competitive. e-Maritime must ameliorate complexities that hinder networking of
different stakeholders, increase automation of operational processes. 2012-2015. BMT group,
FACULTYed Kingdom.
• INTERREG Programme EWTCII project. The development of a "Green Corridor
Concept" as a best practise case in the European context. The East West Transport Corridor is
an efficient transport corridor with close co-operation between interlinked hubs meeting
market demands for growing freight transport. 2009-2012, Region Blekinge, Sweden.
• INTERREG Programme Rail Baltica Growth Corridor project. Aims at fostering the
competitiveness of the Eastern BSR by improving the accessibility through Rail Baltica in
line with green growth corridor principles. Transport connections in Eastern BSR are
inadequate due to low interoperability and weak cooperation along the Rail Baltica route,
which is a major obstacle to mobility of freight and passengers. 2011-2013. City of Helsinki,
Finland.

Projects on sustainable transport area
topic INTERREG Programme TransBaltic project - to provide regional level
incentives for the creation of a comprehensive multimodal transport system in the
BSR by means of joint transport development measures and jointly implemented
business concepts. The project wishes to address this key challenge by
complementing actions taken by the national authorities within the framework of the
EU Baltic Sea Strategy. 2009-2012. Region Skane, Sweden.
• FP7 Be LOGIC - to improve the quality and efficiency within and across different
modes of transport, by means of benchmarking in logistics and co-modality. 2008-
2011. Mobycon bv, Netherland.
