Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is increasingly used to realize client performance objectivesthrough effective project and production plans with measurable outcomes such as ~40% reduction inissue resolution time and ~50% reduction in overall construction schedule. Successful Candidateswill:

Use collaborative planning, management, and project execution methods to optimize success of design and construction projects.

Establish vision, strategy, and implementation roadmap to realize business and project objectives.

Apply VDC on real-world projects.

Leverage BIM as part of a broader approach integrating visualization, simulation, and whole-team collaboration to maximize project outcomes.

Strategic Building Innovation (SBI) has successfully delivered VDC Certificate and VDC Leadershipprograms in collaboration with Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE)for years to hundreds of professionals who now deploy these skills in everyday projects. SBI hasrecently been approved to deliver similar and enhanced courses in collaboration with the StanfordCenter for Professional Development (SCPD).

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICUMParticipants will embark on a practicum to explore in-depth practicalimplementation of VDC in their areas of work.

PROJECT PROGRESS CHECK-INSParticipants will share their progress through monthly reporting. Instructorsand fellow participants will provide feedback and advice in each check-insession.

INTEGRATION WORKSHOPParticipants share their VDC implementation experience, results, learningpoints and insights gained during the implementation period. Instructors willprovide guidance for the participants to plan VDC direction for the companyand future projects

NINE CORE MODULES OF SELF-PACED LEARNING WITH ONLINE KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENTS Participants will have full access to approximately 14 hours worth of onlinecontent for a self-paced learning. Approximately 5 hours worth of assessmentquestions and exercises are available during and at the end of each onlinecourse section to review learned knowledge. See Nine Core Modules fordetails.

EXPERT INSTRUCTIONParticipants will engage in in-person and/or virtual coaching sessions withinstructors on applying VDC, use related software, and project evaluations.
