  8. 8. Music Education in India Many of the musicians who have died recently or are very will take their knowledge to the grave. To sit at the feet of the master the whole day, every day, for years and years, is rapidly becoming a social and economic impossibility. Those who intend to become musicians will have to take lessons a few times a week and improve their skills by practising at home. The result however is that they improve their technical ability but their insight into the foundations of the music remains shaky. - Meer, W.
