Vision

GSMR is a non-profit society, a source of learning and an interactive platform dedicated to the promotion of excellence: through sharing and spreading knowledge and exchanging best practices.

Seminars, workshops, forums and conferences are all conducted by GSMR in order to foster the growth of knowledge and skills among its members.

The society also provides accredited certification for maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals throughout the Arabian Gulf.

Moreover, the society creates opportunities for networking amongst its members and with other professionals throughout the region and throughout the world.

Benets

For almost a century, the Arabian Gulf has enjoyed rapid growth and

development of many industries. Over time, societies formed that have served

the interests of those who work in these industries. About a decade ago, the

maintenance and reliability professionals of the GCC saw the need for a society

that would represent and develop their own specialized field of the engineering

industry in the region, and to extend their network globally.

In 2008, 26 maintenance and reliability professionals from major Gulf companies

began meetings that would lay the ground for a new specialized society to serve

those who work in the maintenance, reliability and asset management fields in

the Gulf.

In January of 2010, the Gulf Society of Maintenance Professionals was officially

registered and announced.

In a very short time, the Society became the regional hub for industry

professionals. Later the society was transformed into the Gulf Society for

Maintenance and Reliability (GSMR).

This platform would add value to maintenance, reliability and asset

management activities, and elevate the profile and status of the industry

throughout the region.

Our goal is to provide a platform for our professionals

to network and share best practices.

One of the biggest achievements is the birth of the Middle East Maintenance & Reliability conference, MAINTCON, which provides a unique platform for professionals from all over the world to share knowledge and exchange the latest developments in our profession.

In addition to Maintcon, GSMR has successfully conducted specialized technical forums focusing on various specialized subjects related to industry.

The Turnaround & Shutdown Management Forum held in Doha, Qatar on March, 2014 and Reliability Culture Towards Operational Excellence held in Abu Dhabi, UAE on December, 2015 were attended by hundreds of professiaonals whio met for two days discussing and sharing knowledge in their specialized field.

Furthermore, tens of technical meetings covering various subjects were conducted all over the GCC countries. Those meetings aimed at spreading knowledge and sharing best practices. Moreover, those events were carefully selected to discuss the latest advancements in the field of maintenance, reliability and asset management.

GSMR is a leading non-profit organization providing specialized training and certification to pave the way for excellence in maintenance and reliability. GSMR objective is to deliver top quality training programs, courses, seminars & workshops for the benefit of maintenance professionals, managers and technical personnel in various industries.

As part of its growth, GSMR joined forces with other international societies to create the Global Forum for Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM), an international body that connects maintenance, reliability and asset management societies all over the world.

GSMR also collaborates with other international and regional societies and councils. GSMR has signed memorandums of understanding with the Bahrain Society of Engineers and the Saudi Council of Engineers and intends to extend these collaborations with other GCC engineering societies.

GSMR continues to transform itself and revisit its strategies, to respond to changes in the environment and to adapt to international developments in the industry - in order to position itself as the region’s number one choice for partners seeking to advance in the field of maintenance, reliability and asset management.

The society is currently working on several strategic objectives. To mention few, GSMR growth, knowledge management and professional certifications.

GSMR has achieved a lot in its short journey and has a clear road map ahead.

In spite of the relative short journey, the society has enjoyed notable successes. Industry forums were held in various GCC countries, showcasing exhibits and presentations by service providers and vendors from the region and around the world.

In addition, GSMR became the only non-profit entity to provide specialized courses and professional certification in the region.

Way Forward

GSMR is your world-class partner in maintenance, reliability and asset management throughout

the GCC, and beyond.

The first edition was Maintcon2010 which was the biggest in size and best in quality when it comes to maintenance and reliability specialized conferences in the Middle East. Maintcon2010 attracted more than 700 delegates which exceeded all expectations. Maintcon continued to grow and Maintcon2014 attracted more than 900 delegates. Maintcon is held every two years providing a robust platform for exchanging and creating knowledge.

These achievements have given GSMR leaders the motivation to conduct specialized forums and events, in addition to identifying specialized training courses that would help professionals better serve their organizations. So far, GSMR has run over 70 events all over the GCC countries.

All those achievements were not possible without the hard work, commitment and dedication of the board members, committee chairs and the active members of the society throughout the years.

To date, GSMR has conducted a number of training programs and trained hundreds of maintenance and reliability professionals from a large number of reputable companies in the GCC region.

GSMR conducts a wide range of Training Programs & Workshops both publicly and in-house (on site) for the companies as required.
