BMB HAS IMPORTANT NEWS AT K 2016 IN DÜSSELDORF.
demand for electric machines, that in addition to the advantage of lower energy consumption compared to hydraulic machines, ensure maximum precision with a finite tolerance range of the final product.
BMB has been able to achieve from “eKW-Pi” machines even better performance than that of its accumulated hydraulic counter parts, especially in terms of acceleration and deceleration of the main mould opening and closing movements with the resultant lower cycle times.
The “eKW-Pi” Full Electric Series is in fact characterized by direct movements
on all axes, through electric screw drive torque motors on the injection unit and brushless motors on clamping unit and ejection, with no indirect drives to be moved, thereby ensuring instantaneous response.
The motors are driven and controlled via a control system specifically designed to capitalize on all the advantages of direct electric drives, including the ability to recover the braking energy. The system, in fact, absorbs the energy developed during the braking phase of each movement (for example that of the moving platen during the mould closing), which would otherwise be dispersed in the form of

The eKW-Pi Full Electric is a Series of injection moulding machines that fully demonstrate the knowledge accumulated by BMB in fast molding machines, now enhanced by the positive results obtained by incorporating direct electric drives for machine movements in place of hydraulic drives. With these developments we are able to offer not only a significant reduction in energy consumption and noise levels but also it is possible to maintain an extremely clean work place.
The food packaging market is becoming more and more demanding hence the

heat and diverted to other functions, such as barrel heater heating. Any excess energy is then returned to the network and not dispersed into the environment.
Thus the BMB machines are so able to work with lower consumption and reduction in power consumption peaks.We finally underline how the experience that BMB has gained over the last decade with our direct drive technology has now enabled us to extend the
“Full Electric” range to incorporate the injection unit size designated EUROMAP 7000, usually combined with clamping groups of 700 tonnes or 850 tonnes.
High performance levels and reduced operating costs are the main characteristics of the machines that BMB presents at K 2016 in Düsseldorf (Hall 13 - Stand A33).

This 1,150 tonnes clamp force machine is equipped with 2 injection units and a rotary table mounted on the moving platen.This machine is just one example of the extensive range of multi material machines that we offer in varying configurations with 2, 3 and 4 injection units.Due to the modular design of BMB machines we can readily accommodate our customers wishes to suit any mould layout. This cell will demonstrate a 2 cavities container with a solid colour and 4 transparent sides.The product has a total weight of 480 grammes, mould produced by SCS-Italy.
eKW 40Pi/1300 Full Electric
Again from our Pi packaging series, this 400 tonnes clamp force full electric machine will be at the heart of this cell.
This cell will demonstrate a 6 cavities 300 ml tub with a product weight of 5.2 grammes and therefore a total shot weight of 31.2 grammes.
The cell incorporates a Robot and IML system and the total cycle time will be 3.2 seconds.
Mould and Robot/IML system both supplied by Müller-Switzerland.
The centre piece of our smallest production cell is a 160 tonnes full electric machine.
This machine is designated as “Pi” that signifies that it is from our series dedicated to the production of fast cycling, thin wall products.
This cell will demonstrate a 4 cavities 155 ml food container with a product weight of 6.2 grammes and therefore total shot weight of 24.8 grammes.
The cell incorporates a Robot and IML system and the total cycle time will be 3.00 sec. Mould supplied by Otto Hofstetter-Switzerland. Robot and IML system supplied by Polymac-The Netherlands.

Remote assistance allows diagnosis and interventions on the injection molding machines control system. Communication with eKW Series machines uses a network connection via TCP / IP software installed on the PC that will communicate with the machine.
In moulding departments this means information accessibility in “real time” on the machine movements and performance with the possibility of intervening if necessary on the working parameters and modify them instantly.
Monitoring the moulding parameters centrally, you can get details on the machines operation, control its performance, receive sms or e-mail on your smartphone in case of alarm, with detailed description of these anomalies.
Acquiring the production data for each shot, at a central level, it is possible to meet the ISO standards, related to the quality and traceability of each piece control, produced by the machine, which is critical not only for the pharmaceutical and food sectors, but currently for each application area.
