VISUAL DESIGN

The profession of Visual Design is the creation of visual designing print or electronic forms of visual information, for the purpose of broadcasting, advertising, and publishing information through such outlets as a commercial or website.

BASIC ELEMENTS OF VISUAL DESIGN Lines-Used for the purpose of describing a shape or

outline, as well as make divisions and create textures

Shapes- a 2-dimensional line with no form or thickness used to define areas. Every object is composed of shapes.

Color Palette- a combination of different shades and hues. Project Management can use Color Psychology to determine how certain colors affect users.

BASIC ELEMENTS OF VISUAL DESIGN Texture- The degree of roughness and smoothness in a

visual design. Project Management can used this for the sake of either for attracting or deterring attention through repeating patterns or colors.

Typography- the study of the design of type faces. It is the execution of fonts chosen, as well as font size, shape, and color.

Form- the combination of two or more shapes to enhance different tones and textures.

COLOR PALETTE EMPHASIS

hue- a color or shade of color that permits them to be classed as red, yellow, or blue

Value- the lightness or darkness of a color

Intensity- the purity or saturation of a color

Monochronic color- use of color where only the lightness or darkness of color changes

Analogous color- colors that are next to one another on the color wheel
