The Floating World Clare Langan’s The Floating World is a multi-screen film which presents a

sensitively poetic message about possible futures and our place in the world.

Shot in three contrasting locations, the viewer is led through haunting and

elegaic landscapes where white ash or snow swirls and settles, prompting

thoughts of a world devasted and beyond habitation. The Floating World

questions the relationship between mankind and the earth.

The Floating World premiered as a single channel projection at the prestigious

KINO DER KUNST 2013 Munich and was awarded the Prix Videoformes 2014

| Conseil Général du Puy de Dôme at VIDEOFORMES 2014, Clermont-Ferrand,

France.

Clare Langan studied Fine Art at the National College of Art and Design,

Dublin and with a Fulbright Scholarship, completed a film workshop at NYU.

She has represented Ireland in numerous international biennales and won

national and international awards for her work. Langan is represented by

Nuala Fenton.

This exhibition is accompanied by a publication with texts by Declan Long,

This organic matter is the raw material the earth is made from.

VISUAL presents Cosmic Dust, a group exhibition looking at attempts to

orient ourselves in the universe that maintains us. Gathering the ideas of

science and the spiritual can combine to offer a deeper understanding of the

metaphysical nature of existence. From our connection to the natural world to

our place in the stars, the exhibition delves into humanity’s poetic attempts

to build systems of thought, meaning and belonging in the face of a vast and

unknowable universe.

on-stage banter, well-observed yarns and

sell-out shows – including the Melbourne

International Comedy Festival, Edinburgh

Fringe Festival and the Montreal Just For

Laughs Festival. Expect this show to deliver

McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

The Lambert Puppet Theatre is nationally

and internationally renowned for its work

throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe. They

have created some of Ireland’s most loved

puppet characters, including Wanderly

Wagon’s Judge, and of course, Bosco, who will

make a guest appearance at the start of this

show. This is a beautiful production with large

puppets, colourful sets and exquisite lighting,

suitable for an age group up to ten years.

CLTS kick-start our theatre year with 3 one act plays. Interviews with Loneliness

is a though-provoking look at the lives of 3 different women, each searching for

the beauty and essence that lies within. Pete and Joe at the Dew Drop Inn is a

funny and incisive look at life through the eyes of 2 drinkers who regularly meet

at the bar and discuss what hits their fancy on any given day. Costa Del Packet

Isla Grant: From the Heart Tour

Carlow Little Theatre presents

The Kings of Kilburn High Road

Scotland’s most popular singer-songwriter Isla Grant makes a welcome return

visit to Ireland for the now traditional tour. In the last year she has completed

hugely successful tours of New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the UK and

once again received a Gold Disc for CD sales. Add this to six Platinum Discs

already received in Ireland and you can see why this ‘Scottish Lass’ is so

popular! Her highly entertaining concert features all of her hit songs.

Back by popular demand, last summer’s production returns for two nights

only! Six Irishmen emigrated to London in the 1970s, planning their triumphant

homecoming as rich men. Twenty five years later, only Jackie returns home – in

a coffin. In the shoddy back room of an Irish centre in Kilburn, the remaining

five gather to mourn him and the loss of unfilled dreams. Cast includes Paddy
