StotrasThe tradition of worshipping Gods through Stotras or hymns could be

traced to the Vedic literature itself. However, the stotra lore expanded exponentially in Purana literature. Sri Adi Shankaracharya used this medium to convey the essence of the Upanishadic teachings to the common people while strengthening the tradition. Surrendering to the Supreme-self, in whatever form, and recognising the limitations of human faculties is a big step towards achieving Harmony with nature and fellow beings as well as composure and peace in day to day life. It is also the first step in spiritual practice.

The scriptures have established that even chanting of stotras result in fulfilling our just desires and relieves our difficulties and problems. This has been the experience of devotees. Knowing the meaning of the stotras and contemplating on it leads to personality and spiritual development, like increasing the concentration power of students, developing empathy for others etc.

It is the desire of Vedantabharathi that this treasure of our heritage should reach each and every being, leading to the personal and spiritual upliftment of our youth. .

In our country, withso much of diversity the only uniting force is spirituality. The message of the Upanishads is that it is the same Brahman who resides in every being. Ekam Sat Vipraha Bahuda Vadanthi which means “The truth is one but the learned give it different names”. To reinforce this message in the minds of every citizen, Vedantabharathi, endeavours to popularise the stotras as the first step. With this in view, the stotras are selected and taught to millions, without any discrimination of caste, creed, or gender.

We appeal to all like minded people to join us in this endeavour and make our country great.
