Known Issues and Limitations
Software:[180] Global WiFi registration is still valid for device even after uninstalling the VMBclient.[179] Bytemobile Optimiser versions lower than 4.3.2 don't support 64 bit operatingsystems.[162] The Network Optimiser currently doesnt support Windows 8. It is deactivatedwhen Vodafone Mobile Broadband is running on Windows 8.[154] On Windows 7, some radio access preferences are not available: 3G Preferredand 2G Preferred cannot be set. If a device has been set to these values usingWindows XP or Vista, the preference will show as Automatic on Windows 7.[148] When upgrading VMB 10.1.000.25677 to a newer version, a critical exception
may occur. Workaround: First uninstall VMB 10.1.000.25677 manually beforeinstalling the new version.[146] Disconnecting is not possible while sending or receiving SMS. This is by design.[144] Under specific circumstances, the Anti-Virus tool from Avast can show amalware warning for VmbServiceConfig.exe. Please ignore this warning; for somebackground on this message, please visit the Avast blog:https://blog.avast.com/2012/03/20/autosandbox-why-are-you-annoying-me/[120] When using ABC in Automatic mode: under some circumstances the mobiledevice can be deactivated when Wi-Fi is disabled (for example using a hardwareswitch).[103] VPN traffic is not measured by the application when the VPN profile is notselected in Vodafone Mobile Broadband. To select the VPN profile please go to
view, , select the VPN entry, then select the VPN profileusing the button (eg. Cisco).[083] When uninstalling the Optimiser client using the Change option in , , it is not possible to reinstall it using the samemethod.[053] Vodafone Mobile Broadband will not show an error message when a device
with an inactive SIM is inserted.[048] Updating from a Vodafone Mobile Broadband Lite which has been installedfrom a Huawei device, to a Vodafone Mobile Broadband Lite from a ZTE device isnot possible. Workaround: manually uninstall the old Vodafone Mobile Broadbandrelease.[041] Language Azeri cannot be selected during installation. If you would like to use
it in the application, please select a different language for the installation and switchto it afterwards. This can be done by going into the view, menu,, [006] [070] The network optimisation client is determined by the first selected
operator, meaning an operator change doesn't install or uninstall the optimisationclient. Workaround: If an optimisation client change is required, please uninstall andthen re-install Vodafone Mobile Broadband.

General:[156] Using the Vodafone K5005, a LTE connection is only possible if the device isset to "4G Only". It falls back to 3G when it is set to "4G Preferred". This is a network
limitation.[151] The German LTE network does not yet support the APN 'event.vodafone.de'.Therefore customers using WebSessions cannot connect via LTE network.[084] When using an NDIS 6.2 device on Windows 7, Windows displays a differentsignal strength than Vodafone Mobile Broadband.[071] VPN Clients like the Cisco client version 5, which rely on a DeterministicNetwork Enhancer (DNE), cannot be used with NDIS 6.2 devices on Windows 7. Asoftware update is available for the DNE which fixes this issue:http://www.citrix.com/lang/English/lp/lp_1680845.aspPlease refer to the table in the chapter Supported Devices to check if your devicesupports NDIS 6.2 on Windows 7. If it does, the software update is needed.[040] Windows 7 and NDIS 6.2 devices: it is not possible to enter the PUK. This is a
Microsoft bug which will be fixed in Windows 7 Service Pack 1.[011] If the own number (MSISDN) cannot be accessed or found, a link to therelevant section of the Help file is displayed on the Help/Diagnostics window. Pleaseselect 'Device' on this page of the Help file to get further information on how to getthe MSISDN.[012] The help file for Vodafone Mobile Broadband Lite contains only troubleshootingtopics for all languages.[013] Vodafone Mobile Broadband does not support more than one attached deviceat the same time.[014] For some WLANs, automatic authentication is done as soon as the connectionis established. This authentication needs some data from the SIM card. If the SIMcard is inserted for the first time, there is a possibility that the data is not ready for
successful authentication. Workaround: disconnect and connect again.[015] Automatic authentication which is done for some wireless LANs is dependenton the server side as well, and can last up to 30 seconds.
General device issues:[183] Remote NDIS (RNDIS) devices may not work correctly after you perform a notplaned removal on a Windows XP-based computer and then attach the RNDISdevice to the computer again. Workaround: reboot the computer. If this problem stilloccurs, please read Microsofts article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959765/en-us?fr=1 and install the mentioned hotfix.[166] A Quickstart device cannot be found if VPN is active when starting VMB.[165] VMB supports only one QuickStart device at the same time, please remove all
other devices.[017] Contacts: Only Sierra Wireless, Motorola and LG devices support Unicodephonebooks. No phonebook import possible if contacts contain special unicodecharacters.
Huawei devices: [178] The Vodafone K4605: stops importing contacts from SIM after an invalid
character was found in the text string.
[163] The Vodafone K3772 is displayed as "Optical drive in in "Start / Devicesand Printers" under Windows 7 and Windows 8.
