Reading 17 Read the review by Maggie (16), who lives in the UK. Then choose the

correct words to complete the sentences.

I went to the Elderflower Fields festival last year with my parents and my brother, Sam, who’s

fourteen. I’m happy to say that it was an amazing experience!

Elderflower Fields is for families. I don’t think it’s an old festival, but it’s already very popular. It

lasts for three days and usually takes place in May.

There were brilliant bands that Mum and Dad loved. There was a lot of music that I liked, too.

And there were many outdoor activities, like skateboarding, which Sam enjoyed. Another

good thing was that I met loads of young people and we all became friends.

Everybody camps at the festival. Unfortunately, our tent was small (it was for three people!),

but we didn’t mind. The only problem with the festival was the weather. It rained every day!

Luckily, it wasn’t cold, but in my opinion everyone should pack a raincoat and some insect

repellent.

On the whole, I recommend this excellent festival. Have fun!

1 Maggie is talking about something that happened last year / a few years ago.

2 She went to the Elderflower Fields festival with her friends / family.

3 Maggie thinks the festival is new / old.

4 The music / weather wasn’t good.

5 Overall, the experience was positive / negative.
