*Adj.- lacking interest, care, or enthusiasm; indifferent or apathetic; automatic, unthinking

Sometimes I feel very perfunctory throughout the school day, not because of school work, but because of people throughout the day who just know how to irk my nerves.

*Meticulous

*Adj.- taking or showing extreme care about minute details; precise; thorough

*2. finicky; fussy

*While writing an essay, it is important to be very meticulous of grammar errors as well as comma splices.

After the tragedy that occurred on September 11th, a great deal of lamenting overwhelmed the entire country for all of the empathy for lost family members.

While I was at Modell’s, a widely known sporting store, my main intention was to buy basketball paraphernalia but I ended up buying myself a nice new sweatshirt instead.

The captain of the cheerleading squad strutted her way down the halls of the school thinking that she was such a prima donna, wearing nothing but expensive jewelry, clothes and makeup.

browsing through Facebook, I wonder if people have ever even just for a few minutes paid any bit of attention in English class because their syntax and grammar are extremely messed up.

On Thanksgiving, everyone who was complaining that they were so ravenous, ate a huge dinner and suddenly could no longer button their pants.

The parsimonious man, who used every coupon he could possibly find, still started an argument when he had to pay ten dollars for over forty items.

Adj.- Frugal or stingy, tightfisted, penny-pinching
