Want to know how to explore and create voices for animation aswell discover your authentic American and British Accents? Looking for more depth, clarity and tone in your voice? Want to really connect with your character? Speech work is really important, but accents and particularlystaying in those accents and voices can often cause problems foreven the most seasoned performer. Our accent, speech &voiceover 10 week course with Helena Walsh will help boostyour confidence and get you back on track and really connectand develop your characters voices!

any accent."In theses 10 weeks we will cover the basic foundations ofspeechwork, which are necessary tools to build accent andcharacter voice from using Knight Thompson Speechwork in a funand playful environment, we will explore a variety of accents,general american, standard english and many more as well asexploring how to use these tools to develop character voices foranimation We will use film, theatre and animation scripts to work from inparticular American, British and Irish scripts.  The end of these 10weeks, you will have the tools to create your own unique charactervoices and a solid foundation in general amerian and standardbritish as well as an understanding of how to break down accents in general.

Helena Walsh is one of Ireland’s leading coaches in the Irish film andtheatre industry for young up and coming actors, preparing them forscreen and stage alike. Helena teaches and hosts workshops all over theworld. She is Artistic Director and founder of her own Voice and ActingStudio ‘Helena Walsh Voice and Acting Studio' in Dublin, Ireland. It isan innovative, cutting edge, studio for artists around the world. Sheinvites some of the finest international teachers in the industry to co-teach with her at her studio. The studio acts as a centre for cutting edgepractice for an interdisciplinary approach to a truly empowered,creative, vibrant and embodied actor and human being. Her mission with her work is to empower each actor to discover theirunique creative intuition and foster it so they stand out because of theirdifferences. She gives them skills that ensure their resilience and artistrywithin the industry. She offers them a practice and a process that theycan continue to foster their craft through for the years ahead. She hascreated a truly unique approach to acting from her thirty years ofresearch and practice. Helena trained and worked as an actress and singer for many yearsbefore becoming a voice and acting coach. Over the past twenty fiveyears she has worked as a vocal coach on many professional productionsas well as theatre and film training programmes worldwide. IncludingThe Gaiety School of Acting, the National Theatre School of Ireland,Trinity College Dublin on the B.A. in Acting and University College Corkon the B.A in Theatre Studies. Helena is a moderator on ‘The End ofTrauma international online course, which now functions on aworldwide basis. She is currently training in Organic Intelligence in Switzerland on theirHuman Empowerment and Resilience Training Programme, whichworks on PTSD, Anxiety and Stress, offering tools to help actors and students move beyond trauma, integrating it into their lives and using it as a source of creative empowerment.
