Tentative Plans***… We will stop for breakfast before getting on our
way… Once we arrive at Six Flags, we’ll drive through the Wild Safari -- the
largest drive-thru safari outside of Africa – 350 acres wildlife preserve.
The safari is home to 1,200 animals, including several endangered species. The
4.5-mile auto trail lets the animals walk right up to our cars for an up-close encounter the
GirlScouts will never forget. After the Safari, we will enter and have fun at the Park, taking
a break for lunch, and then finishing the day at the Park. Once we’re finished exhausting
everyone with the fun-filled day of activities at the Park, we will head over to the hotel,
where we will rest for a few minutes and then go to dinner. Swimming and
other activities will be available for those who want to participate. Sunday –
breakfast and then back home to you.
When: Saturday-Sunday, June 2-3, 2012
Departure Place and Time: Leave from Patuxent Elementary School at 6:45 a.m.
on Saturday, June 2, 2012
Cost:** $20.00 per Scout

No Refunds! No Refunds!
Important Note: Each GirlScout will need either a Six Flags Season Pass or a ticket to Six
Flags. To date, no one has said their GirlScout will have a Season Pass. If she will have one by June
1, I need to know now… so I won’t waste money by purchasing a ticket for her. (Note: Season Passes must be activated at our local Six Flags park before Friday, June 1 in order to be able to use
them at the Six Flags/New Jersey location).
A few other notes: Please pack lightly for your GirlScout, and please do not send hard suitcases; if at all possible, send her things in a soft
duffel/type bag (we’ll be very limited on space in our vehicles). Please make sure your GirlScout has the following: a change of clothing; at least 2 changes of underwear; socks; jacket; deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, lotion, swimsuit (decent, please), beach towel, sleepwear, comb and brush (if she needs them), fannypack, money for souvenirs/snacks/games/etc., and a good and happy attitude.
Each GirlScout will be responsible for her own items, including her money. Please do not send any more than $10.00 with your GirlScout for spending money. Please send a fannypack {one that fits around her snugly and has a working zipper or closing mechanism} with your GirlScout so she can keep her money safe while at the park. Please make sure her items are marked w/ her name on them.
If any GirlScout has to take medication while we are on this trip, that medication must be labeled with her name and specific directions. In addition, the specific directions (time, amount, etc.) must be written out on a separate page w/ your GirlScout’s name on it. Please place medication and instruction page in a Ziploc bag with your GirlScout’s name on it, and give it to Ms . Prescott. We are not allowed to give prescription medication that is not in the name of the GirlScout. Please do not ask us to do so.
****************************************************************** *This trip is for the Daisys and Brownies -- not their parents… It’s not that we don’t love you guys, but it’s a lot easier for the Leaders if parents do not attend . **Cost includes: Transportation to/from/around New Jersey; luxury hotel accommodations; meals on Saturday-- breakfast, lunch, dinner; meals on Sunday – breakfast, lunch; admission to Six Flags Safari; admission to Six Flags Theme Park; lots of fun; and the great friendship and comradeship with her fellow GirlScouts. ***Everything is subject to change… But… remember… we, as GirlScouts, are very adjustable/flexible/adaptable! Cost is for those who participated in GS Cookie Sales. The return time of 4:00 p.m. is tentative… It may be as early as 2:00 p.m. It will depend on when we leave the hotel after breakfast. Please make sure the phone numbers listed on your permission slip are numbers where you can be reached on Sunday early afternoon... just in case we return early. This is an on-going project, so please bring in your items each month.

Troop Leaders Needed…
We are in desperate need of
GirlScout Leaders.
If you want your Girlscout’s Troop to continue
next year for the 2012-2013 Scout meeting year,
we need volunteers to be Leaders. Leaders do
not have to have a child in the Troop, do not
have to have a child in Scouting, nor do they
have to have children. They do need to want to
work with young girls (and their parents), though.
If you are interested or know someone who
is/may be interested, please email me their
information and/or give them my email address
so they can contact me. Training is free. We
need Leaders for Daisys, Brownies, and Juniors.
Thank you. Ms. Prescott
