Hi from Nat’l. Chevy, Today is Nov. 10 and it looks like winter has begun. Some ares have received 12” so far. Here at the shop only a couple of inches so far have fallen, but 8 to 10” more is predicted. Hopefully it won’t come. Traffic is messed up everywhere as the roads are pretty much ice covered and getting to and from work is lengthy. We’re keeping pretty busy here and trying to finally finish some of the projects we’ve been working on. On my end I could use some pictures for the newsletter as I am running short for the next issue. Please help me out if you can.

I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving. Our granddaughter is a freshman at the University of Michigan and we haven’t seen her since the latter part of August. She spent some time working with us this summer and I really miss her. It’s hard to believe that another year is almost over. The years sure do go fast. Be sure to check out our website for good used parts and check out the Mail Order Swap Meet in this issue. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas. See you in January. ‘Til then.....

It all started in 1954. I bought my first car when I was 14. It was a 1947 Chevy Fleetline. It had all the goodies...sunvisor, spot lights, fog lights, factory fender skirts. I had it painted black. I lived in the country so I could drive it on the back roads. I worked after school at a big farmer’s market so on my 16th birthday, with a brand new driver’s license in hand, I drove to work instead of hitchhiking. Three weeks later a man in a 1952 Chrysler backed out in front of me and there wasn’t enough of my car to rebuild. This all takes place in 1956. My dad had found another car for me which he insisted I buy. A 1950 Chevrolet with 25,000 miles on it, but it was a four-door. No one drove a four door back then unless they were at least 50 years old. I pulled it in the garage and started to remove all the door handles. I took off the hood ornament and everything off the deck lid, dropped the whole car 3” and took it to the paint shop where it was painted snow white with red pin striping. I added fender skirts, wide white tires and flipper hub caps. Well, now I’m 75 years old and have had at least 19 cars that I built in my life. Now I am back to my favorite...the 1950 Chevrolet. It has a 235 6 cylinder engine, Fenton headers, 4 speed Saginaw transmission, 232 gears in the rear. I can run 65 mph at 2100 rpm. I had it painted supposedly dark

blue but it looks black and sometimes purple. I have added the wide whites and a set of original 1956 Olds Fiesta hubcaps.

P.S. - Many of my parts came from National Chevy – from St. Paul, MN to Tampa, FL.

Now Showing ____________________________ Thanks to National Chevy and all their help and parts I finished my 1954 Chevy. It was sold new in Jacksonville, FL. I was the third owner with 85,000 miles on the car. After a lot of work and many hours we enjoy driving it and going to some shows and car meets. I am sending you some pictures of my car if you can use them, and also renewing my membership.
