Career Transition and Health Issues

This is a statement of the intention of the Board of directors to help all members remain members of Rotary even during times of strife in their lives

Adop$on of a Career Transi$on Membership Status

Whereas the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of North Sco* recognizes that during :mes of

economic uncertainty, members may be impacted by job loss or medical emergency of immediate

family members. Such situa:ons may cause a member to feel that con:nued par:cipa:on in the

club as a Regular Member, paying full, quarterly membership dues cannot be jus:fied.

Therefore: in recogni:on of this short-term situa:on, the following temporary membership status

in the Rotary Club of North Sco* is established by the Board of Directors and is effec:ve with

the approval by a quorum of the Board of Directors.

This temporary Career Transi$on Member (CTM) membership status will be defined as

follows:

The North Sco* Execu:ve Secretary or the President of the Club will be informed of the

situa:on by the impacted regular member.

Career Transi:on Member (CTM) status will be approved by the Execu:ve Secretary or

the President of the Club and reques:ng member will be informed of their eligibility for

this membership status by the Club’s Execu:ve Secretary.

CTM status will be effec:ve the month following the approval of the request and be in

force for the next 3 consecu:ve months.

CTM’s dues will be reduced for the 3 month period to the meal charge at the Friday noon

mee:ng. No general membership dues or other assessment will be invoiced during the

CTM status.

If during the 3 month period of CTM status, member situa:on is resolved, they will

automa:cally be moved back to regular member status, with regular member dues and

assessments, effec:ve the first month following no:fica:on to the Execu:ve Secretary of

full :me employment.

If, at the end of the 3 month period of CTM status, the member situa:on con:nues, a 3

month extension of the CTM status can be requested to the Execu:ve Secretary by the

member.

Aer two, 3 month periods in the CTM status, member will be automa:cally returned to

regular member status with regular member dues and assessment back in force. At that

:me it is the accountability of the member to confirm their con:nued membership in the

club, to resign the club, or to request some other currently recognized status which is

subject to appropriate approvals.
