All,

You will find photos from this year's Eagle Creek Folk Festival on my Flickr site at https://www.flickr.com/photos/29471731@N06/albums/72157700067361765

Sorry it has taken so long to get these out this year.  It has been a busy summer!

As always, you are welcome to use these images for sharing, etc.  However, I have reduced the image resolution for posting on this site.  They will look fine on your phones and computer screens but they may not print clearly.  If you need an image for print, let me know and I will give you the full res image.

ON A DARK AND STORMY DAY, TWO OF OUR MEMBERS ATTEND FUNDRAISING MEETING IN FRANKLIN, INDIANA

Fundraising has become part of our Eagle Creek Folk Festival, not only to raise funds for the festival, but to fulfill the Society’s mission by promoting and supporting folk and traditional American music and to perpetuate the traditions of American folk music. On Thursday, November 1st, Lois Molitor and Susie Kraeszig attended the Affiliate Council Meeting of the Indiana Landmarks Association in Franklin, Indiana, at the beautiful Artcraft Theatre. Angela White, CEO of Johnson, Grossnickle and Associates, national fundraising consultants based in Indiana, presented a very interesting and helpful discussion on practical fundraising tips. As the Eagle Creek Folk Festival nears, we will be sharing some of these tips. We are also working on applying for grants to help with the costs of the Festival. Grants, however, take time and are awarded a year after applying. So it will be fundraising this year. With the information gained at the meeting today, we will be able to target our donors more efficiently and have better results. Stay tuned.

On Sunday,

November 4thchange your

clocks!

THE MUSIC ROOM HOUSE CONCERTSDo you know about The Music Room House Concerts? The Music Room is hosted by Society member, John Seest, and is located in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood, near Butler University. As the term implies, this is a concert in a house. C o n t a c t J o h n b y e m a i l a t [email protected] to receive his concert schedule. It is great music in an intimate setting.

DONATION!At the October meeting, we had a donation of a guitar for the Silent Auction in December. Thank you, Cindy Condon, and good luck on your move to Hickory, NC!

We’ve had a request not leave your instruments in front of the supply closet at the Society meetings. The cabinets need to be accessible for those getting out supplies and putting them away. Thank you!
