KUSM-W DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE TEAMS UP WITH FRIENDS UNIVERSITY The KUSM-W Department of Family and Community Medicine has partnered with students from Friends University who are interested in pursuing a health care profession. Emily Manlove, M.D., has been instrumental in solidifying the collaboration. Megan Regier, junior, has served as a research assistant for the hepatitis C treatment program at the Via Christi FMR Center. Josh Schafer, junior, is serving as the research assistant for the Collaborative Care Team also at Via Christi FMR. This opportunity gives college students exposure to both clinical medicine and scholarly activity. The students are able to receive class credit for their work. VC FMR and Friends University hope to further the partnership by taking more students in the future.
