Al-Quran

2. Whatever is in heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah; His is the

kingdom and His the praise, and He has power over all things. 3. It is He Who has created you, but some of you are disbelievers and some of

you are believers, and Allah sees what you do. 4. He created the heavens and the earth with truth, and He shaped you and

made your shapes beautiful, and to Him is the ultimate return. 5. He knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows what

you conceal and what you disclose; and Allah knows full well all that is in the

breasts.

Al-Hadith Like for Your Brother What

You Like for Yourself

Narrated by Hadrat Anas, Allah be pleased with

him: Said the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings

of Allah be on him):

“By God Who holds my life in His Hand, none

of you can be a truly faithful Muslim, unless he

liked for his brother what he liked for himself”

Writings of the Promised Messiah (as)

The Holy Prophet (saw)

It would not have been possible for me to have attained this grace if I had

not followed the footsteps of my lord and master, the pride of all the prophets,

the best of mankind, Muhammad, the chosen one, peace and blessings of Allah be

upon him. Whatever I have achieved, I have achieved by following him, and I

know from verified reliable experience that no man can reach God and obtain a

deeper understanding of His ways without following that Prophet, may peace

and blessings of Allah be upon him. Now, let me also make it known that the very

first thing you are rewarded with, after having completely submitted yourself to

the instructions and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, is that you are

granted a new heart which is always rightly inclined, that is to say, a heart which

has turned cold upon the love of this material world, and instead it begins to

yearn for an everlasting heavenly pleasure. Having achieved this desire this heart

is now fit to receive that perfect and purest love– the love of God. Because of

your complete obedience to him, all these blessings are bequeathed to you as his

spiritual heritage.

(Haqeeqatul Wahi: Roohani Khaza’in, Vol. 22, pp. 64-65)

Thy boundless blessings and peace be upon Mustafa, O God;

Verily through him we receive Thy light.

My soul is eternally bonded to the soul of Muhammad

I made my heart drink deep, of the brimful cup of his love.

None better than he could I discover in the whole world.

Most certainly, I have broken my heart loose from the grip of others

God’s glory is reflected in your virtues my beloved.

Him I made my own, by having made you mine….

Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih VABA’s Friday Sermon Summary

On 1st January 2016, Hazrat Khalīfatul-Masīh V (May Allāh

be his Helper) delivered the Friday Sermon at Baitul Futūh

Mosque, London.

In the context of the start of the new year, Huzoor (May

Allāh be his Helper) outlined the way one should lead one’s

life in the light of the Holy Qur’ān, the example of the Holy

Prophet (saw), and the sayings of the Promised Messiah

(as). Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that the ulti-

mate goal of an Ahmadī should be to win the pleasure of

Allāh.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said: Today is the first

day of the new year and it is also a Friday. I am receiving

congratulatory messages and I know that many Ahmadīs began this day with prayers. We should remember that a

believer is not one who worships just on one day, but

rather brings about a holy transformation in his or her self

through perseverance and regular worship, and strives to

attain the pleasure of Allāh through perseverance and con-

stant striving. Performing good deeds and offering Tahajjud

for just one day is not enough; we have to perform these

virtues all through the 12 months and all the 365 days.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that we should es-

tablish a relationship with God and our life and death

should all be for His sake. The world should not be our

prime objective and our faith should not be in name only.

Our profession of being lovers and followers of the Holy

Prophet (saw) should not be merely superficial. Without

action a claim is as useless as husk. For example, a man

named his son Khalid (that is, one who has a long life), but

the son was in the grave that very night. So a name means

nothing. Without the essence, the husk is only worthy of

being thrown away. Therefore, we should always undertake

actions that are pleasing to God and always give preference

Friday Sermon: The Year 2016 and Our Responsibilities

Delivered by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor AhmadABA, the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

on January 1, 2016

to the faith over worldly affairs.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that the Promised

Messiah(as) wanted to establish a community of people who

give preference to religious endeavours and hold the pleas-

ure of God above everything else. To this end, the Promised

Messiah(as) has taught us many things. Today I remind the

Jamā‘at to keep these teachings in mind and to bring about a

pious transformation in themselves. Do not seek the world,

for it will only increase your thirst for it. Whoever lives car-

ing and worrying after the world gets nothing. One who

loves the world is estranged from God. Therefore, you

should lead your lives bearing in mind the teachings of the

Promised Messiah (as).

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) cited some extracts from

the teachings of the Promised Messiah by following which we

can attain the purpose of our creation. Huzoor (May Allāh

be his Helper) said that we should truthfully follow the

teachings of our faith and be wary of the onslaught of Satan.

The good of this world is that which leads to the good of the

faith. And the good of the faith cannot be attained by hurting

others or by acquiring worldly benefits through unlawful

means. Therefore, shun the unlawful means of earning that

lead to the path of evil.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that the world is vis-

ited by plagues, earthquakes and other calamities on account

of Divine displeasure. We should bring about a pious change

within ourselves in order to be among those upon whom

God showers His blessings. And a holy transformation can

only come about through righteousness. In other words, we

should submit completely to God, for He does not like that

we should submit partly to Him and partly to Satan. God

does not like that a partner be associated with Him

Secondly, in order to acquire a holy transformation, it is im-

portant to remember death. We do not know when it will

come, hence we should always strive for righteousness. The

third way is to overcome indolence. Also we should offer

Istighfar and show penitence for our shortcomings and

wrongdoings and thus strive to attain contentment. Another

means is to persevere in the face of troubles and tribulations,

turn to God, and continue to strive for righteousness so that

God may have mercy on us. Also in order to undergo a holy

transformation, we should overcome pride, arrogance and

vanity. We should also avoid anger, for anger is born of van-

ity. We should give preference to others over ourselves and

inculcate love and sympathy for them.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that parents should

not only care for their children’s worldly education but

should also be mindful of their religious knowledge. The of-

bring about a transformation in themselves. Do not exhort

others about things that you yourself cannot demonstrate,

rather become a model for others to follow. Huzoor (May

Allāh be his Helper) said that righteousness is also a condi-

tion for the acceptance of prayers. Whoever adopts Taqwa

for him the doors to the acceptance of prayer are opened. ——————————————————————————————————————————————————

Friday Sermon synopsis by:

Ch. Hameedullah, Wakīl A‘lā,

Tahrīk Jadīd Anjuman Ahmadiyya Pakistan

Dated: January 7, 2016

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that the 20th of

February is commemorated in Jamā„at Ahmadiyya as the

day of the Musleh Mau„ūd Prophecy. Allāh gave the Prom-

ised Messiah the tiding of a son who would serve the faith,

live a long life, and possess many great qualities. This was

not only a prophecy but a great heavenly sign. Indeed this

sign is more excellent and fulfilling than the quickening of

the dead. In this sign God accepted the Promised Mes-

siah‟s prayer and promised to send a person through

whom the blessings of Islām would be spread to the

whole world.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that this prophecy

was fulfilled in a grand fashion and time proved that Hazrat

Mirzā Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad was in fact its mani-

festation. The Ahmadī scholars were also convinced in

view of the events that pointed to the fulfilment of the

prophecies that he was indeed the manifestation of this

prophecy. But Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd himself did not

make such a claim until God told him of it in a dream. In

1944, thirty years after becoming the Khalīfa, he received

the news from God and claimed that he was the one to

whom the prophecy applied. In his sermon of 28th January

1944, Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd spoke in detail about his

dream and the fulfilment of the signs outlined in the

prophecy. He said, “I would not read this prophecy care-

fully lest my self should deceive me into applying it to my-

self.” Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that while the

one to whom the prophecy truly applied was so careful,

there are others who blatantly claim that it applies to

them. Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) cited several

writings and sermons of Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd regarding

the fulfilment of the signs contained in the Prophecy

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that the prophecy,

“It is a Monday, a blessed Monday,” was fulfilled in the

sense that Monday is the third day of the week, and so he

Page 8

the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

on December 11 2015

would be third among the people who would spread the

message of Islām in this age. The other is that the second

phase of Tahrīk Jadīd began on a Monday in 1944, and

according to the prophecy this too would be a source of

blessings. Hence today this Tahrīk has completed many

decades and is working in every country where Ahmadiy-

yat is established. The prophecy, “He will grow rapidly in

stature,” was also fulfilled in that while at first the oppo-

nents called Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd a child, only a few

years later they labelled him as cunning and experienced.

Thus God caused them to admit that the one to whom

the prophecy applied grew rapidly in stature.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that the kingdom

of Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd was not worldly but a heavenly

one. He said, “Circumstances have improved a lot since I

became the Khalīfa. There are hundreds of times more

Ahmadīs today than at that time. The Jamā„at is estab-

lished in many many more countries. I will leave behind

many times more books in support of Ahmadiyyat than

there were in the beginning. I will also leave behind much

more knowledge.” Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said

that all this shows that he was supported by God.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that God informed

Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd through dreams and visions that

the prophecy applied to him. Huzoor (May Allāh be his

Helper) spoke of some of these dreams and of their com-

ing true and said that Allāh also showed such dreams to

other Ahmadīs in which they were told that he was indeed

the one to whom the prophecy applied.

Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that there was Di-

vine wisdom behind the delay in informing Hazrat Musleh

Mau„ūd about being the manifestation of the prophecy.

One of these which is stated by Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd

himself is that God did not want to place the Jamā„at in

any sort of trial or tribulation. Therefore he first caused

things to happen which clearly fulfilled the signs contained

in the prophecy and then caused Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd

to make the claim so that the Jamā„at would not be in any

doubt. Huzoor (May Allāh be his Helper) prayed that Al-

lāh may save every Ahmadī from the stain of denial. Hu-

zoor (May Allāh be his Helper) said that every Ahmadī should seek to benefit fully from the knowledge and wis-

dom contained in the words of Hazrat Musleh Mau„ūd .

May Allāh enable us all to do so.

At the end of the sermon, Huzoor (May Allāh be his

Helper) informed the Jamā„at of the sad demise of Sufi

Nazir Ahmad Sahib of Germany and led his funeral prayer

in absentia after the Friday prayer.
