Constant volume flow controllers KP and KP-I are mechanical controllers used to maintain a constant volume flow rate independently of the pressure variations in ventilation and air conditioning systems. Controllers can be installed in a supply and extract air systems.

Each controller is set to the required flow rate and subjected to the aerodynamic function test conducted in our test facility. The flow rate can be easily set or reset by adjusting the control lever on the calibrated scale. This is done by loosing the control lever's wing bolt and turning the control lever's arrow pointer to the desired value. When adjusted, the control lever is fixed by tightening the wing bolt.

Controllers work at the differential pressure range from 50 to 1000 Pa and the air velocity range from 3 to 10 m/s. As a reference value, recomended air velocity is around 6,5 m/s, where the accuracy of a constant flow rate is usually within a tolerance from ±5% of the set value.

The controller can operate, without the direct influence of weather conditions on the operation, within a temperature range of -20°C up to 80°C and relative humidity up to 80%.

Controllers should be stored in closed and dry places at temperatures from -20°C to +60°C.

Rectangular controllers are flanged on both sides for connection with the standard 30 mm ventilation duct flange.The controller can be installed in horizontal, vertical or inclined mounted duct in a manner that the rotational axis of the dampe blade is always in a horizontal position. Also it is necessary to pay attention to the correct mounting direction shown with the air flow direction arrow on the controller. Required length of the straight duct section is Lmin≥3dek before and Lmin≥1,5dek after the the controller. If this lengths are smaller, deviations of the set flow rate can occure and the stated accuracy of the flow rate may not be achived; therefore, such installations are not recommended. Controllers are maintenance free.

The damper blades shaft is supported by two smooth-running maintenance-free brass bearings. Pneumatic shock absorber smooths out the damping shock impulse, preventing the vibration and oscillation of the damper blade to ensure sensitive responding behaviour and a precise control.

If air is blown into a room, additional attenuation occurs as a result of the duct outlet attenuation and room attenuation and because of that, a reduction in the sound level.

The room and outlet attenuation can be calculated according to VDI 2081. As a rough estimate, approx. 8 dB can be deducted. To maintain a required noise pressure level, it may be necessary to install a suitable sound attenuator between the volume flow controller and the room, or to insulate the duct.

The flow noise is heavily dependent on local conditions, like dimensions of the duct (height, width, length) behind the sound attenuator and the insulation of the duct. The specified data can provide only a reference values. The noise pressure level can rise if there is an additional noise source such as a ventilator or unfavorable air flow conditions. If this additional noise pressure level is smaller than approx. 10 dB of the noise pressure level of the volume flow controller, it will have no increasing effect on the addition of both.

Curcular controllers are connected to a duct like a standard ventilation duct fitting.The controller can be installed in horizontal, vertical or inclined mounted duct in a manner that the rotational axis of the dampe blade is always in a horizontal position. Also it is necessary to pay attention to the correct mounting direction shown with the air flow direction arrow on the controller. Required length of the straight duct section is L≥3d before and L≥1,5d after the the controller. If this lengths are smaller, deviations of the set flow rate can occure and the stated accuracy of the flow rate may not be achived; therefore, such installations are not recommended. Controllers are maintenance free.

VARIABLE VOLUME FLOW CONTROLLERS – RECTANGULAR VP

Description

Insulated version:

Variable volume flow controllers are used for pressure-independent volume flow regulation in variable or constant capacity ventilation and air conditioning systems. Controllers can be installed in a supply and extract air systems. The controller consists of a casing, damper blades, flow probes and VAV actuator. Depending on project requirements, variable volume flow controllers can be controlled by the room temperature sensor, air quality sensor or pressure sensor. The controller compares the actual value signal with the setpoint value and sends an output signal to the electric actuator which adjusts the damper blades to maintain the set point value.

CASING - made of galvanised sheet steel

DAMPER BLADES - opposite moving, made of galvanised sheet steel, with sealing. Thermal insulated blades in insulated version

FLOW PROBES - sending the actual value signal to the controller which compares it with the setpoint value and sends an output signal to the electric actuator which adjusts the damper blades to maintain the set point value

SINGLE-BLADE REGULATION DAMPERS – RECTANGULAR

Single-blade regulation dampers are mainly used for regulation and balancing of ventilation and air conditioning systems. Blade angle adjustment 0°–90°. Made of galvanised sheet steel with working temperature range from -20°C up to +90°C for manual and +50°C for actuator controlled version. Easy installation and rigid construction.

MULTI-BLADE REGULATION DAMPERS WITH ROUND CONNECTION

Description
