The glory fetched by our past presidents and teams has set a benchmark for the years to come. I take this opportunity to personally congratulate Rtn. Dr.Rupali, Rtn. CA Aniruddha and Rtn.Hemant for setting up highest standards of their respective portfolios during year 2012-13. I also acknowledge the team members: Board of Directors and Committee Chairmen who have accepted responsibilities for this new year. We have our DG Rtn. Dr. Prafulla Mirajgaonkar and his District administration team as a great resource in our own city to guide, promote, and navigate our activities. We must take fullest advantage of this opportunity. I felt this is extremely important to let you know the happenings and guidelines given at Rotary International level on how the Rotary Club should function with effect from Year 2013-14. Dear readers,
It is a great honor for me and to my Club, RC of Beit Dagan from District 2490, Israel to serve
as guest editor to Skyline.
RC Aurangabad West is our only sister club. (Interesting thing: in Hebrew, a club is male, so in
Hebrew we call Aurangabad West our brother club).
We are very proud that we took small part in your project of beds for the juvenile detention
house. This is one small sample of the things that sister clubs can do together.
At this time our Club is involved in two Matching Grants in India: One is with RC Gandevi,
Gujarat to provide educational materials, blankets, towels, books and other utensils to tribal
children of residential schools and the second is with Todd Lindley from ROTI (Rotarians On
The Internet) providing hearing aids to 150 poor children from Tamil Nadu. I'm myself the
DGSC (District Grants Subcommittee) of our District and we are moving next Rotary year to
the new Grants model known as Future Vision.
Our club counts 30 members, and is known in our District for its fellowship and vibrant,
although most of our members are retired.
To end my role of guest editor I would like to thank RC Aurangabad West for the invitation to
serve as guest editor and to my friend Sanjay Kulkarni. I also want to send a greetings to all the
members of the sister club of Aurangabad West and to their families.

And my soul is at home
with Rotary.
Rotary cares for the
world’s children and my heart has a soft corner for
children.
When Rotary mourns for
the victims of this world, my hands are joined in
prayers and When Rotary
celebrates its Triumphs my
my breath away, And my
hope for the future gets brighter
When Rotarians greet me as family, they teach me
the meaning of
blood pulses to its rhythm
and I become the essence of it.
When the stories of Rotary echo round the fire My feet
walk in its pathways and I
become the footprints of its history Because it is
imprinted upon my heart and written in my soul
Because we will lead the world into tomorrow And I
recognize the gifts Rotary
has given me as Sacred.
That is why I feel my soul is at home with Rotary. Rtn. Sadiq Chagani

Ingredients
1 long cucumber, chopped or grated (we prefer it peeled)
1 garlic clove, minced or smashed 3 teaspoons olive oil
4 cups yoghurt 1 cup water 1 teaspoon salt (we like it saltier)
1 tablespoon dill, finely chopped 4 big pecans, well crushed
Preparation
Put all those together and mix well. When ready garnish with olive oil (or other favorite oil).
Best when chilled.
Hint: Try it with no dills and pecans - Bulgarian restaurants favorite.
About Tarator
Tarator is a cold summer soup made of yogurt and cucumbers. It is served chilled. Local
variations may replace yogurt with water and vinegar, omit nuts or dill, or add bread. The
cucumbers may on rare occasions be replaced with lettuce or carrots.

I am a Rotarian by the grace of God. I have received so much from the society that I feel
constantly obliged to give something back in return.
Through Rotary, I have discovered the avenue to discharge this obligation on a continuous and
satisfying way. I have discovered a goal, which is worth more than life itself. That goal is to
contribute significantly to the creation of something good and permanently useful to people;
that something should be a beacon of inspiration for those travelers who will come after me on
my life's travel-road.
Through Rotary I also became more involved with service to the less fortunate in my
community. After becoming Rotarian my circle of Rotary friends then extended far beyond my
community to communities throughout the country and eventually the world.
My greatest joy as a Rotarian has been to see the smiles on the faces of those that we have been
able to help in some way - big or small.
Thanks to Rotary for providing me a different World.

Country: Austria (light yellow) Federal State: Upper Austria (light blue)
Region: Mühlviertel (dark blue) District: Freistadt (brown)
Main location for the RC: Hagenberg, Pregarten, Wartberg, etc. (arrowhead)
Mühlviertel:
Located North of the Upper Austrian capital Linz, the Mühlviertler Kernland region invites you to
spend recreational and adventurous holidays all year round. It’s the pure way of life in the 16 munic-
ipals that characterises the region between Danube and Moldau. With family, friends or alone: A
holiday here is always fun!
Mühlviertel convinces with its beautiful and gentle landscapes, which are characterised by gently
hills and granite, as well as with its unique cultural heritage, Renaissance, Gothic or Baroque: With-
in a small area you will find various architectural styles in the region’s valleys and cities.
Hagenberg:
Hagenberg valley is often called Mühlviertel’s own “Silicon Valley” and has established a world-
wide reputation. The University Linz’s RISC research institute is located in the old castle of the
1,000 year old castle.
The software park’s core can be found in the former steward’s yard. 25 companies, eight research
institutes, two colleges with new degree courses and a secondary school are located here. The mu-
nicipal administration, a restaurant and the event centre are also located in the castle.
Hagenberg software Park
Economy – research – education: these key subjects build a perfect symbiosis in Austria’s most in-
novative technology centre. The software park serves as a regional and international hub for soft-
ware businesses, software research and software education. Hagenberg offers you as a guest much
more than technology and research.
Pregarten:
Visit one of the oldest markets in Upper Austria, where already in the 14th century active trading
took place. Today Pregarten in Mühlviertler Kernland is a young town with great nature and culture
offers, which you can enjoy with your family or friends.
Probably the oldest and most popular building is the “Bäckenhaus”, where today the local museum
is located; the Bruckmühle mill, which was constructed according to the neo-Gothic style and the St.
Anna church.
Visit Pregarten – the town on the river
Pregarten is the perfect starting point for many hikes along the Feldaist. Short or long – the Feldaist
system will help you with sign-posts along the way. Hike up the river in direction Kefermarkt. You
will pass beautiful natural spectacles, the Pechölstein, a gigantic rocket and historic buildings like
the Kumpfmühle mill. Down the river you will find mills and mystic virtuous places. The way will
lead you to Wartberg in Kriehmühle, where fried trout is the local specialty.
Art and culture in Pregarten
The ambitious art and culture programme at the Bruckmühle culture centre will delight you. Various
activities and productions by actors and artists take place throughout the year.
More than four hundred people have already visited the Brückmühle mill since 1999. This means
that it is the most visited culture house in the country side.
The Reichenstein fortress ruin was first documented in 1230 and was enlarged or rebuilt by various
Lords. Since 1989 the ruin has been restored and made public.
