Introduction 1-1

VOLUTANK Configuration Version EDS 1.13 SAK 060121

1 Introduction VOLUTANK is a variant of the system PETRODAT 3002, integrating elec-tronical dipsticks, a quality assurance system (QSS) and a theft monitoring system (SPD). The system VOLUTANK consists of several individual components inter-communicating via a serial fieldbus (P-NET). The controller is the central operating and information unit of the system. The construction of the controllers, their general operation and the handling of the system during operation are described in the operating instructions. The present documentation describes the configuration of the controller software of the system VOLUTANK. Via the menus of the configuration, you make all settings required for operat-ing the control software or for the actual facility configuration. When you leave the configuration, the complete configuration data is automatically saved. Most of the possible settings can be made after entering passwords permit-ting the access to certain configuration levels (s. chapter 3 Password input). All data relevant for calibration or for the program flow can only be changed if the calibration switch is turned on. The calibration switch must be turned on before the configuration is activated! The calibration switch is located at the bottom part of the controller and is equipped with a so-called calibration bolt which is secured with a calibration seal. To turn on the calibration switch, the seal must be loosened and the calibration bolt must be removed. After this, turn the calibration switch anti-clockwise by 90°. After turning on the calibration switch, the main menu dis-plays a blinking E. If data subject to calibration should be changed, the calibration switch has to be turned on before the configuration is activated! After the calibration switch has been turned on, recalibration at the owner´s expense will be required! Due to a different software update and to a different configuration, the dis-plays shown below may slightly differ from the displays at your facility.

For an overview of the structure of the configuration menus see chapter 12. The optional access to the relevant configuration level is also mentioned there. A configuration level includes the access to the respective lower configura-tion levels.

3 Password input

The configuration of the software is protected by several passwords. The dif-ferent passwords permit access to different configuration levels.

3.1 Driver password The driver password permits access to configuration level 1. For instance the language within the controller parameters can be changed. The date cannot be changed under the driver password. The driver password is the sum from month, day and hour (as shown in the display). Driver password = day + month +hour Date: 21. 03. 2005, 07:28 Driver password= 21 + 3 + 7 = 31 After the password has been entered, the configuration level the access is permitted to is displayed.

3.2 User password The user password is the password of the truck fleet manager. It consists of a maximally 3-digit code defined by the truck fleet manager. The user pass-word permits access to configuration level 2. On this level, configuration data not subject to calibration can be changed, for instance turning on and off several options and hardware modules. User password = driver password x (code + 1) + code

Driver password = 31, code = 120 User password = 31 x 121 + 120 = 3871 In the delivery state the code = 0. Consequently the user password is equal to the driver password. If the password entry is not successful (no level is displayed), the system time may not conform to the current time of day. For the calculation of the password please use data and clocktime as shown in the display. After the password has been entered, the configuration level the access is permitted to is displayed.

3.2.1 Change user password When the user password has been entered (in the delivery state it is identi-cal with driver password) the softkey [Change user password] is available. Press this softkey to change the code.

At the prompt ”old PW“, first enter the existing code (in delivery state = 0) and confirm it. Then there is a prompt to enter the new code (“new PW“). Af-ter having entered and confirmed it, you have to enter and confirm the new code a second time.

Example

3.2.2 Delete user password If the access to the user level is not possible any more because you have forgotten the code, you can delete it after entering the service password. Press softkey [delete user PW]. The code will be reset to the delivery state (= 0). On the level of the service password or the calibration switch, the operator code can only be reset (=0) but not converted to a new code.

3.3 Service password

The service password permits the access to all configuration options which are not subject to calibration (configuration level 3). The service password is constituted according to a special mode and is changed periodically. The service password is only revealed to authorised service staff. It consists of digits and letters. During entry you have to shift between letters and figures ([ALT]).

3.4 Calibration switch After the calibration switch has been opened, all configuration options are accessible (configuration level 4). Data subject to calibration can only be changed while the calibration switch is open. The calibration switch must be opened before activating the configuration! The calibration switch is equipped with a so-called calibration bolt which is protected by a calibration seal. To open the calibration seal, you have to loosen the seal and remove the calibration bolt. Turn the calibration switch anticlockwise by 90°. After the calibration switch has been opened, a blink-ing E appears in the display of the basic menu.

If data subject to calibration should be changed, the calibration switch has to be opened before activating the configuration! After the calibration switch has been opened, recalibration at the owner´s expense will be required!

3.5 No password To check the preset configuration data, you can activate almost all menus of the configuration without having to enter the password first. In this case you can´t change any settings except the following ones. The following settings can be made without having to enter the password: Contrast setting possible within the configured limits (Contr.-

config./contrast) Selection of slip language (parameter config../slip language) Manual entry of the additive price ( parameter config../ product data)

By means of the controller configuration you can make settings that influ-ence the displays and system-internal processes.

4.1 Contrast

In this menu the contrast of the LC display can be changed. Without having to enter the password first, you can set the contrast of the display by means of the softkeys [+] and [-] within defined limits. Soft-key [0] sets the contrast to the lower limit. Set limits of contrast range In configuration level 2 (user password) you can define the limits of the con-trast range within which the contrast can be changed without password input (for instance by the driver). After the softkey [contrast] has been pressed, at first the softkey [Reset_with_-] is displayed. By means of softkey [-] you can reset the contrast to the basic setting. Now the upper softkey has the designation [upper limit]. By means of the softkeys [+] and [-] you can set the upper limit of the contrast range. Con-firm the entry with the softkey [upper limit]. Then the upper softkey has the designation [lower limit]. Now the lower limit of the contrast range is set in the described manner. After confirmation by means of the softkey [lower limit] the upper softkey has the designation [contrast] again. Be-fore quitting the menu, set the contrast to the required value within the newly defined range.

5 Options

Data capt. If data capture is activated, the data of the loading processes

is stored in the battery-buffered memory of the controller and can be inspected and printed until the next data capture. It is recommended to deactivate data capture if there is no of-fice connection. In this case, the daily data is stored in the configurable day buffer (see 6.2 Ticket controls/ day buffer).

If data capture is activated, data should be captured daily. If there is no data capture, an error message will appear if the memory capacity is exhausted. In this case the data must be deleted. The systematic deletion of data can take place after entering the user pass-word (Configuration / parameter config. / data capture /delete data) (see 6.6.4). Another possibility of deleting data is by formatting the data media (see 6.6.2). Caution! When the data media are formatted, existing master data may also be deleted. Invoice If this option is activated, it permits to issue invoices on site. If

this option is deactivated, a delivery note is printed. If no price is entered although the option “invoice“ is activated, only a delivery note will be printed.

Add.device. The delivery of additives via an additivation facility is not sup-ported in program version EDS 1.13. Deactivate this option.

Sched.data. Avtivate / deactivate the option “sched.data”.

PN-Control ON: The interface P-NET-Touch-PC is activated.

Radiomodem ON: The radio connection via V24-P-NET converter is acti-vated. The call parameters can be configured under the pro-gram parameters (see 6.7).

Komp.load ON: Loading takes place with temperature compensation. Requirements: empty compartment at start of load-

ing, compensated product, temperature sensor is con-figured, no temperature error

Remove gas Time in minutes that makes sure that gas is removed from the product after loading. The loading function can only be quit after this time has expired. The time for removing gas has an effect on the accuracy of the measurement of the loaded quantity.

Quan.check Quantity check ON: At each start of an order or of a loading, a dipstick dataset is recorded. If the difference between the cur-rent compartment quantity and the previously recorded quan-tity exceeds a configurable value (see below, compartment tolerance), an error will be registered. On the next slip an ex-clamation mark appears before the product name. In the jour-nal an exclamation mark appears before the text ”dip“ at the beginning of the line in the respective compartment.

bv-wait After the check dip at the start of an order the bottom valves are opened for a configured period of time. Then a second dip takes place. If quantity changes by more than the value con-figured for the admissible pipe tolerance (see below), another dip will be recorded. The error resulting from the dip difference in the pipe is also recorded. An exclamation mark appears on the slip and in the journal (analogous to “quan.check”).

auto.end After the configured time has expired, the operating status “loading” is quit automatically, unless the loading is still going on. This prevents the driver from accidentally staying in the operating status “loading“.

dip tank If this parameter is activated, “dip tank” of the customer´s tank can be activated via the special functions. For each configured product a dip reading or counter reading of the customer´s tank before and after the procedure can be entered and re-corded.

log. output Each additive is assigned a logical output. Possible outputs: 31...38 or 0 if no output is required. In order to realise additi-vation with the same additive but with different merging ra-tios, an output can be multi-configured i.e. the product is set two times with a different merging ratio, but with the same output.

If an additional charge should be raised for the transportation of hazardous goods, it must be configured as a manual additive product (cf. 6.2 Ticket control / charge). After entering the data for the additives, confirm the additive number 00. Then enter the data of the main products approved for delivery.

For product numbers 1 through 10, values according to the TDL standard have already been defined. If one of these numbers is entered, a data set – i.e. a product name and a short product name – is automatically entered. This data can be overwritten with other details if required. Maximally 25 products can be configured in rising order. At least one product has to be configured. You quit the input mask after confirming the product number 0. If a product should be removed from the list, the complete product configura-tion has to be reset by omitting this product number.

ADR-no. This parameter defines which ADR text is printed on the de-livery slip. 0: The ADR text is printed in accordance with the product

number, i.e. for product numbers <3 the text for heating oil and gasoil is printed, for product numbers ≥3 the text for petrol is printed.

1: The ADR text for heating oil/gasoil is printed. 2: The ADR text for heating oil/gasoil is printed (required for

example for bio-gasoil, as product no.=9). 3: The ADR text for petrol is printed. Furthermore, this parameter regulates the allocation of a product to a product group, e.g. in order to restrict products for hose selection or for manual loading (cf. 8.1 Hose con-figuration).

Dichteabw. This value shows how far the density of the product may vary from the density configured in calibration. At the start of the order, the density is measured and compared to the con-figured value. If the variation in density exceeds the speci-fied value, an overview of all density values of the compart-ments appears, and the faulty compartments blink. If the driver starts the order without changing the product, an error is registered. This function is only accessible with configured density measurement in the dipstick interface (see page 7-4). 0: no density check.

SAFE-P Bel Product identification code under which the product is loaded.

SAFE-P Abg Product identification code under which the product is deliv-ered.

Product identification code: code under which a product is identified in the SAFE component “quality assurance“. Second and first decimal digit: Safe product identification code for identification during load-ing and discharge. If there are several products with identical Safe product without third decimal digit, a selection of these products is carried out for loading, e.g. gasoil, bio-gasoil, truck gasoil. Third decimal digit: Physically identical products which are not discerned before discharge, e.g. heating oil and heating oil with additive(s), additionally have to have the same third decimal digit.

If „0“ is entered for „SAFE-P Abg“, the product identification code under which the product was loaded applies (SAFE-P Abg = SAFE-P Bel).

throttle Pump performance with throttled pump in l/min.

zero-flow Flow rate in l/min from which it is permitted to end the dis-charge.

RP-flow Flow rate in l/min for pumping back (draining if product is changed).

equal.puls Pulse duration (s) for deairing while the equalising vessel is being filled. If it is too long, you risk overspill. You can enter values between 0 and 2.5. Guide value: 0,5.

SB-flow Target flow rate for self-priming (empty hose)

SB-output Logical output for the empty hose, used for self-priming (23: empty hose 1, or 24: empty hose 2).

empty flow Maximum power (for residual draining with compressed air)

Kammerluft Time for deairing if compartment is changed

Umpumpzeit Time for pumping procedure at delivery start. The time serves to wash air bubbles out of the pipe system.

Umpump.Ka. Pump-around time if compartment is changed (for deairing)
