THE GUARANTEED WORKING PRECISION AND RELIABILITY OF THE MA-CHINE CAN ONLY BE OBTAINED WHEN EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE INFLU-ENCES SUCH AS DIRECT HEAT OR SUNLIGHT, COLD AIR, VIBRATIONS ORSHAKING FROM OTHER PRODUCTION UNITS IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITYARE AVOIDED.

IF THE PRECISION REQUIREMENTS ARE INCREASED FOR THE MACHINE,THEN IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A CONSTANT ENVIRONMENTALTEMPERATURE AND ISOLATE THE SURFACE ON WHICH THE MACHINE ISINSTALLED FROM EXTERNAL INFLUENCES. THE INSTALLATION SITE CANSIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCE THE NOISE EMISSIONS COMING FROM THEMACHINE DURING NORMAL OPERATION. TO PROTECT THE MACHINE OP-ERATOR, MAKE SURE THAT THE MACHINE IS NOT INSTALLED AT A LOCA-TION WHERE THERE ARE ADDITIONAL SOURCES OF NOISE OR THE NOISELEVEL IS AMPLIFIED!

4 Power supply types and connection information

According to DIN VDE 0160/05.88 Section 6.5 it is permitted to connect the machine to a three-phasepower supply without residual current circuit breakers!

It is not a problem to connect the machine to a TN power supply, and you must use an isolating trans-former in accordance with the instructions in SIMODRIVE 611 Project instructions Chapter 2.4.3 -Connecting to a TT power supply or IT power supply (see the following circuit diagram).

4.1 Connecting to a TN power supply

MACHINES WITH THE SIEMENS/FANUC CONTROL SYSTEMMAY NOT BE CONNECTED TO THREE-PHASE POWER SUPP-LIES WITH RESIDUAL CURRENT CIRCUIT BREAKERS!

    1) If required, the neutral point of the lowconsumption transformer can be connectedto TN power supply.

5 Moving the base machineThe moving of the machines depends on the type of the machine:

The machines MVC610, MVC850, MVC1100 and MVC1300 can be moved with a fork lift truck with suf-ficient load capacity (MVC610~3,1t/MVC850~5,2t/MVC1100~6,9t/MVC1600~14,2t) and sufficient forklengths when they are on a pallet and fixed to it. The Spinner company uses a fork lift truck having aload capacity of 16t. The length of the forks must be at least 3m. Lift the pallet with the machine on itonly as high as necessary

The machines MVC1600 can not be moved with a fork lift truck.

In addition, it is possible to move all machines of the MVC series with a crane and 2 steel cables of suf-ficient load capacity (observe machine weight!). Attach the transport eye hooks beforehand. To do so,remove the front panel of the cross-slide unit. Then pull the Y-telescope cover towards you after remov-ing the corresponding mounting bolts. Two holes for mounting the eye hooks are located in the base ofthe machine. Two other hooks are mounted on the top of the machine column.

Fasten one end of a cable to a front eye hook using a shackle, then fasten the other end in the sameway to the hook in the machine column on the same machine side. Proceed in the same way on theother machine side.

Figure 5-1: Attachment points of the transport cables

TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE MACHINE:

    - ALLOW ONLY KNOWLEDGEABLE PERSONNEL TO MOVE AND UNLOAD THEMACHINE!

    - SET THE MACHINE DOWN WITH EXTREME CARE (DO NOT ALLOW TO VIBRATE)!

    - NOTE WHERE THE CENTER OF GRAVITY OF THE MACHINE LAYS!

    - MAKE SURE WHEN MOVING THE MACHINE USING A FORK LIFT THAT THEFLOORING HAS A SUFFICIENT LOAD CAPACITY (2000 KG/M)!

    Figure 5-2: Moving the machine

To transport the machines of the series MVC850 and MVC1100 you must use the special eye hooksM30 VRS-1 -7UNC, article no. 108853 fixing them in the front of the machine base.To transport the machines of the series MVC1300 and MVC1600 you must use the special eye hooksM30 VRS-1 -7UNC, article no. 108853 fixing them in the front of the machine base and the specialeye hooks M36 VRS-1 -6UNC, articel no. 108854 fixing them in the rear of the machine in the ma-chine column. The correct eye hooks can be made out by their pink colour!

CHECK ALL EQUIPMENT USED TO MOVE THE MACHINE BY CRANETO MAKE SURE THEY ARE UNDAMAGED AND COMPLETELY FUNC-TIONAL!

THE SHACKLE BOLTS MUST FIRST BE SCREWED IN ALL THE WAYAND THEN UNSCREWED ONE-HALF TURN TO PREVENT THESHACKLES FROM BECOMING JAMMED DUE TO THE HEAVY LOAD OFTHE MACHINE WHEN MOVING AND LOADING IT!

AVOID HANGING THE MACHINE AT AN ANGLE WHILE MOVING! SAFETRANSPORTATION IS THEN NO LONGER GUARANTEED AND THEMACHINE CAN BECOME DAMAGED!

DO NOT WALK UNDER SUSPENDED LOADS!
