Dear Friends, Most Sundays, following our morning Masses, there is hotcoffee, juice, a variety of donuts, and even bagels with creamcheese served in the school cafeteria. But it’s not about thecoffee and donuts. The social time following Mass is anopportunity for gather together as members of the St.Benedict community and share the happenings of our week –to bear one another’s burdens and share each other’s joys. It’sa time to welcome new people, to gather with friends – old andnew - and to grow together as the Body of Christ right here inWallingford! Each week different individuals or families host the coffeehour, and in the past, we have not gathered during thesummer. Recently, it came to my attention that this time offellowship is very important to many people, so this summer,we are going to continue to offer coffee hours whenever a hostis available. Perhaps you could sign up to help for a week ortwo! It’s fun, straightforward, and doesn’t take much time. Please contact Becky in the parish office if you are interestedor would like more information. For those of you at the 5pm Mass, we will continue to offerfellowship after Mass on the First Sunday of every month. LetBecky know if you are interested in helping with that, too! Finally, next week is the deadline we have set to reach our2019 Annual Catholic Appeal Goal of $63,516. If you have notyet pledged, please consider filling out a pledge card orpledging online TODAY. Information is available on ourwebsite, in the bulletin, and on the envelopes in the pews. Thisis an important campaign to fund the ministries of theArchdiocese of Seattle, reaching the poorest and mostmarginalized in our area. THANK YOU in advance for yourgenerosity in response. Let’s continue to pray for one another,

WALLINGFORD DUMP RUN
St. Benedict parishioners have the opportunity to serve as altar servers during parish Masses. Altar servers carry theprocessional cross, hold the Roman Missal for the priest celebrant, help prepare the altar, assist the priest when hereceives the offertory gifts, wash the hands of the priest, and assist the priest celebrant during Mass. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in parish ministry and have an active role in the celebration of theMass. St. Benedict Parish youths, fifth grade and older, and adult parishioners are encouraged to join this importantministry. Altar servers must be baptized Catholics and have completed their First Holy Communion. New altar servers willattend an initial altar server training and then begin serving with guidance from more experienced altar servers. If you or your children are interested in an altar serving at St. Benedict Parish or if you have any questions about thisministry, please email Joe Fellores at [email protected] or contact the Parish Office.
