ROOM 114 – CLASS NEWSWHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?
In math this week, we practiced
analyzing and finding information about
different data. We reviewed the words mean,
median, mode, and range. We also went to the
computer lab and completed a practice MCA
test. This is the first year the MCA math test will
be on the computer, so we are trying to get
students comfortable with the new format.
We also wrapped up our science unit,
titled “Variables”. With this three week focus,
we were hoping to give our students some
important, fundamental science knowledge
that they will build on in middle school and
beyond. Our class conducted experiments with
Flippers this week. We also took the end of
module assessment, which will be sent home
after Spring Break.
Students also finished their book club
novel from the fantasy genre. Students will
need to finish their book club packet and book
report over Spring Break. Our spelling list this
week focused on words with different suffixes
and endings.
Students were also introduced to
Schoology this week. This is an online site that
we will be using throughout Exhibition. Each
student has his/her own unique user name and
password to log-in.
I hope that everyone finds time to enjoy
the week long break from school! See you on
the 21st
