THE 2017 ATTITUDES TO SCHOOLS SURVEY

We want our students to tell us what they think

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what your child thinks of our school. The Attitudes to School survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education and Training. The survey assists schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school.

Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.

This year the Attitudes to School survey will be conducted at our school between Monday 22 May to Friday 23 June. The survey only takes 20-30 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time.

Students - Year 4, 5 and 6 at our school will participate in the survey. Your child will complete the survey online during school hours using a purpose built secure online survey tool.

The survey results will be reported back to the school in Term 3.

The Department has updated the survey for 2017 to include important new measures that are known to influence student engagement and performance.

Students privacy is our priority

Your child will be provided with a unique login to complete the survey. The student login is an assigned identifier that may be used by the Department to combine data for research purposes only. Your child’s privacy and the confidentiality of your child’s survey responses will be protected at all times. No identifiable personal data is included in the survey response file.

This survey is not a test and your child has the right to refuse or withdraw from the survey at any point before, during, or after completion.

Want to know more?

Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information or see: Attitudes to School Survey

St Johns Ambulance This week our students have engaged in relevant first aid information sessions, provided free of charge by the St Johns Ambulance service. These sessions have been greatly enjoyed by our students.

I was impressed by the attitude of our students and their willingness to participate in all of the events. A huge thank you to all

our parent helpers, without you the day would not have been as successful. Once again thank you to our P and F for the BBQ

provided, this smelt great and was appreciated by all. Congratulations to Mrs Zoe Henschke and her band of helpers on the

organisation of the day.

Congratulations CHISHOLM!!! A big congratulations to Chisholm House Team for taking out this years 2017 Athletics Day. Congratulations to Brodie and Ragni, the house captains of Chisholm and every student part of the Chisholm team, such a great effort. Well done to the other teams for all their great effort, participation and trying their best. Thankfully the weather was fine this year and students got the opportunity to demonstrate their athletics skills they have been practising over several weeks. A big thank you to all the parent helpers who assisted on the day, whether it was setting up at 8am, running an event, recording times and measurements, leading a group of students or assisting with the pack up – the school thanks you for your time and assistance, we can not run these days without the support of our wonderful parents.

I would also like to thank the P&F parents who held the bbq on the day to refuel our hungry athletes, Caffeine Fetish coffee van, Little Athletics for the hire of their equipment and the Wangaratta High School helpers.

It was great to see so many students out competing, showing great sportsmanship and persistence on the day.
