WATER WELLS: DUAL ROTARY CASING ADVANCE DRILLING

Over the years, the dual rotary method has proven very effective in drilling difficult unconsolidated overburden. With modifications to the rig, additional drilling methods allow a variety of drilling approaches to site specific projects where there are variable geology concerns. In addition to the primary benefit of effective penetration, the rotation of the casing results in very straight holes and casing can be easily extracted using the lower drive, which is useful in well abandonment applications and for exposing well screens. DUAL ROTARY CASING ADVANCE STRENGTHS + Faster penetration rates + Efficient performance in alluvial, sand, gravel and fractured formations + Versatile – capable of open hole drilling + Reduces lost circulation + Minimal mixing / cross contamination + Casing advancement holds hole open + Can modify drilling method after advancing casing

SOLUTIONS + Production, dewatering and monitoring wells for mines, municipalities and environmental + Mineral exploration – premium sample cuttings + Nesting multiple wells in one borehole for interval screening + Hole reaming and case setting + Pulling and replacing existing casing Dual Rotary Casing Advance drilling rotates casing down through overburden and within fracture zones to keep boreholes stable. This equipment is capable of some hard rock drilling applications. Hole sizes vary from 6-inch up to 40-inch casing. Additional drilling methods that can be employed with this rig include flooded reverse circulation, reverse circulation, conventional air and mud rotary.
