Snoball Week Wrapped Up At Rothsay School By: Noah Fiedler The 2020 Snoball week wrapped up on Friday, February 7. There were many activities throughout the week where the students participated. On Monday, students wore their favorite jersey for Jersey day. At the end of the day, the Student Council put on a pep fest where the whole school attended and took part in many fun games. On Tuesday, the students put together their best Hawaiian outfit, and later in the day the 7-12 students participated in a scavenger hunt that took place all around the school. On Wednesday it was neon day and many kids dressed up in their brightest outfits. For the seventh hour activity we played basketball. There were many games which included a senior vs. staff game, senior vs. junior game, sophomore versus freshman game, eighth versus seventh game, and a boys varsity versus girls varsity. On Thursday, it was country and denim day. The majority of the school all dressed up on this day. Instead of having a normal seventh hour activity, it was a reward day to the 7-12 grade students. Those who had good passing grades for the first semester were able to participate in an indoor curling tournament and book bingo. There were many different teams created other than just the students. The different teams included the school board, female staff, male staff, the office, PTO, and the kitchen staff. Head Cook Carol Nehk said “It was fun to be able to get so many different teams together and to be able to interact with the kids. The highlight of the tournament was beating Noah Fiedler.” Finally, on Friday the dress up day was Spirit Day with the Snoball Coronation at the end of the day. The senior candidates up for king and queen were Seniors Noah Fiedler, Nick Wiezorek, Hannah Fisher, and Jayna Gronewold. The 7-12 grade students voted for those candidates on Friday during lunch. Last year’s king and queen, Cole Weets and Cora Honer, came back to crown this year’s king and queen which ended up being Noah Fiedler and Jayna Gronewold. Later after the crowning, the staff put on a Family Feud game where the downstairs teachers faced up against the upstairs teachers. The questions were all school related and the students were the ones who were surveyed. The upstairs teachers ended up taking the win. Mrs. Reber was the game show host and she said “I thought Family Feud was fun and went really well with the exception of a technical difficulty at the very end of the show. We polled the students, so all the questions had actual results from our student body. The teachers that participated seemed to have fun playing and the audience seemed to enjoy it as well. I would say it was a successful show!” Overall, this year’s Snoball week was a huge success filled with a lot of fun. Student Council President, Hannah Fisher said, “It was a great week where all of our students got to participate in activities at the end of the day and I’m glad we could all come together to show our school spirit!” Also, Student Council Advisor, Karen Phillips said “Snoball 2020 was a great week!
