So, finally it is here. Total of 180 design-related events will take place in the cities of Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo, Kauniainen and Lahti during our WDC Helsinki Open Doors Weekend. Welcome. We’ll promise it will be both fun and educating.

W E L C O m E T O T H E W d c H e l s i n k i

O p e n D O O r s W e e k e n D !

For three days we’ll open the doors to the realms

of the WDC Helsinki 2012 and show you what

to expect during the year 2012. Remember, around one half of our

programme is different kind of projects and pro-

cesses. Therefore, the goal of the WDC Helsinki Open Doors Weekend is

to elucidate even some of the less obvious con-tents in our programme.

In addition to present-ing design in surprising

forms and places, the programme of WDC Helsinki Open Doors

Weekend also includes events and contests, free tours and public lectures

for people of all ages, open doors and exhibi-

tions, food and drink and workshops and think

tanks.

For Friday, Saturday and Sunday you may peek at the backstage goings-on in museums, studios and corporate headquarters. Or sit at a sultsina bar or attend a tea party with a local designer or partici-pate in public, open de-sign processes. You can bathe, dance, marvel or just simply listen to the sounds of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

Please. Come along. Be active. Be happy. Be a part of building better, happier and more func-tional cities for all of us. Welcome to the WDC Helsinki Open Doors Weekend!
