We Must Pray to Prove That Christ is God

Other religions have been dominant in Cambodia – Asia – these place – that CHRIST needs to

prove that HE is the truly the living GOD. People hearing the gospel for the first time might well

be confused. How are they to know this truth? Their plight may be compared to that of those in

the OT days, at the time Israel had back slidden into idolatry. When GOD rose up a prophet,how were the people to know that he was sent by GOD?

For false prophet’s contradicted true prophets, false gods competed for allegiance of the hearts

of people. JEHOVAH the living GOD, validated the true prophet or the truth taught by means of

miracles; both miracles of power and miracles of knowledge (prophecy).

Missionaries, evangelists, Christian pastors, Christian workers and even new believers are facing

this dilemma. When the gospel penetrates a new non-Christian in this place or this region, how

are the people to made willing to listen to the message – the gospel? How can they be aided in

leaving the religion of their fathers, and turning to what others may consider “the foreigner’s

GOD?” And we may know, such decisions often results in open persecution for the new

believer, loss of home, social ostracism, loss of job, denial of further education and even

physical harassment and threatened death.

In these circumstances CHRIST must somehow prove HIMSELF to be the LIVING GOD. As in the

old times when pagan religions were a major influence demonstrations of CHRIST”s supreme

presence and power are before converts can be won.

Our prayers have a vital role in helping Christian workers in such difficult places. Our prayers

can join with theirs for opening the eyes of the non-Christians to the reality of CHRIST. Our

prayers can help bring those answers to prayer which will make the non-Christians willing tolisten to the gospel and believe.

In Egypt when GOD’s people were living in bondage to the Pharaoh the power encounter was

between the magicians and gods of Egypt on the one hand and MOSES and AARON as the

representatives of JEHOVAH – THE LIVING GOD on the other. Using MOSES and AARON as HIS

spokesmen, GOD sent ten (10) overwhelming demonstrations of HIS power, the ten (10)

plagues to prove that HE WAS, HE IS and HE WILL BE the ONLY TRUE and LIVING GOD. The

Egyptian magicians countered with tricks of their own. Were these seemingly paranormal

demonstrations sheer chicanery or were they demonstrating limited demonic power. From

what we are seeing and knowing on mission fields today, these displays may well have beendemonic.

GOD knew that the Israelites needed tangible evidence of divine power to lead them out of

idolatry in which they had been enslaved. The plagues followed by supernatural manifestation

of GOD’s power until Israel was settled in Canaan. The miraculous parting of the Red Sea, daily

provision of manner during the forty (40) years of wandering in the desert, the miraculous

supply of water from the rock, and the amazing revelation of GOD’s power at Sanai, the visible



reminder of GOD’s presence with them in the pillar of cloud that led them by day and the pillar

of fire each night. GOD knew that needed miracles and HE gave it to them. (Genesis – Joshua)

Samuel, Elijah and Elisha were validated as true prophets of GOD, by supernatural

demonstration of HIS – The LIVING GOD’s power. Even in the time of OT Kings HE did not

hesitate to prove HIMSELF as the LIVING GOD.

In the time of CHRIST; GOD validated HIS SON by the voice from heaven and through miracles

performed by Jesus. (John 14:11) Jesus told his listeners that if they would not believe HIS

words, they should believe because of HIS miracles (works). Jesus continued to confirm HIS

reality by miracles in the NT Church as the apostles and Paul confronted pagan religions and

demonic powers. (Acts)

We (you and I) do not need miraculous signs and wonders in order to believe the gospel. In our

nations there has been a long history of gospel light. But followers of other religions such as

here in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, etc are in a completely different situation with which it is

hard for us to identify. CHRIST is prepared to come to them and validate HIS gospel. HE does

not hesitate to prove to needy people that HE is the only true LIVING GOD. All we need is you

and I and our brothers and sisters in HIM to pray for.

The BIBLE teaches us that the origin of false doctrines (I Timothy 4:1) and the origin of false

religion is demonic (I Corinthians 10:19-10). This tells us that the frequency of demon

possession among people of false religions and the strong demonic opposition to missionary

work in so many places throughout the world i.e. Africa, Asia (Cambodia). All sinners are

children of the devil (John 8:44) hence they are much more susceptible to satan’s suggestions,

often without even realizing it.

It is not surprising therefore, that satan takes advantage of natural human emotions. He kindles

the anger of family, friends, etc. against a new convert, whim they believe has been deceived

by a false or foreign religion. Satan arouses suspicions, jealousies, and all forms of opposition,

and negative thoughts against gospel workers penetrating a non-Christian society with the

gospel. He precipitates persecution, threats and even murder, and trials and difficulties and

temptations.

This is the demonstration of actual demonic power through the words and works of witches,

witchcrafts, witch doctors, voodooists, and some leaders of non-Christian religions. These are

the people that by their occult and demonic powers try to curse Christian believers and workersin an attempt to hinder, injure, by any way – imprisonment or destroy them. Our prayers are

needed to claim CHRIS’s protection for these Christians who become special targets of satan.

So many things are happening which are hard to explain, to missionaries, pastors, evangelists

etc. all over reminding us that we are in a constant state of spiritual warfare. Our prayers are

needed daily by GOD’s faithful ambassadors on the front lines of missionary service – gospel

workers.



When a missionary, national co-worker, or believer witnesses to followers of other religions

how are these people to be convinced that CHRIST is truly the ONLY LIVING GOD? ANSWERS TO

PRAYER CAN PROVE THAT CHRIST IS THE LIVING GOD. The LIVING GOD is willing to demonstrate

HIS REALITY anytime we are ready (Jeremiah 33:3; II Chronicles 7:14-15; Mathew 18:18-20;

James 4:10, I John 3:22) One of the ways HE chooses to do this is through answered prayer.Pastors, evangelists, and others in many nations are seeing GOD prove HIS miracles, powers,

etc. in answering the needs of the prayers to whom they are witnessing.

We read reports on evangelists, pastors, Christian workers and even new believers telling how

non-Christians special needs have been met. As GOD proves HIS LIVING REALITY the word gets

out that the Christians GOD answers prayer. Example of miraculous healing of illness, infertility;

the most dramatic proofs of GOD’s sovereignty is in casting out demons. These kinds of

supernatural answers of prayer, in which CHRIST encounters and defeats satanic forces, are

called POWER ENCOUNTERS. CHRIST proves HE is alive by answering prayer as no other god can

do.

An effective prayer life is one of the most important qualifications for any missionary, pastor or

evangelist in frontline missionary endeavor. But our intercessory prayer supporting their work

is their greatest need. Christian witnesses, in unreached and unresponsive areas; like where we

are now – Asia, Cambodia Vietnam, Laos, etc., must be covered by prayer so that GOD’s

presence may be demonstrated and prayers answered in such a way as to bring salvation to

many. Christians needing this prayer partnership work in some of the most difficult places in

the world. How can our prayers assist in proving to non-Christians that CHRIST is GOD, and HE

answers prayer? Let us see some ways that we should pray.

1. We must place POWER ENCOUNTERS on our daily prayer list. Remembering each daythose who are laboring in these difficult areas where there are a few Christians and

where serving and following CHRIST is costly. We should pray for all those facing

challenges to prove that CHRIST is the LIVING GOD and that HE answers prayers [(Luke

18:1-8); (Hebrews 10:35-28)].

2. We must pray for CHRIST to be manifest in miraculous power; by patterning our prayer

after that of the Jerusalem Church (Acts 4:29-30); this passage tells us that; when they,

the people of that Church united in praying this prayer, GOD’s POWER shook the place

where they were assembled. Our prayers can help shake spiritually untold number of

people and places of CHRIST.

We must pray for GOD to keep the Christian workers spiritually victorious andempowered by the HOLY SPIRIT. For satan tries in every way possible to afflict workers

in these pioneer ministries with discouragement and temptation, difficulties,

disappointments, etc. To stay very close to the LORD and live in the SPIRIT so that

CHRIST’s POWER may rest mightily upon them. This was the secret of Paul’s ministry

and it must be the secret of theirs also (Romans 15:18-19; I Corinthians 2:4; ii

Corinthians 12:9; Ephesians 3:7,20; II Timothy 1:7; Acts 15:12). WE must pray for GOD to

clothe them daily with HIS SPIRIT.



4. We must pray for daily guidance for these CHRISTIAN workers for GOD to bring to their

attention the people with the needs GOD wants to meet and open the door for their

CHRISTIAN ministry. We must pray for GOD’s guidance in winning those whom CHRIST

exerts HIS miracle POWER.

5. We must pray for GOD’s protection for these CHRISTIAN WORKERS. For satan becomes

very angry with those GOD is using and makes them the special target for his attacks.We must pray for GOD to protect the workers spiritually, physically, mentally and

financially, to keep them free from fear of threats against then and guard their families.

POWER ENCOUNTER – is an important aspect of CHRISTIAN MINISTRY and SPIRITUAL WARFARE

in many places – Cambodia, etc. Our prayers can empower those in the frontline MINISTRY.

HOW MINISTRY wed must pray that the name of JESUS will be honored and that GOD will bring

the harvest for which HE died.

FOR WHICH WE ARE HIS WORKERS NOW HOW MINISTRY – NEW BORN ASSEMBLY (NBA) – We

have a big task.
