TOP COMMITMENT

We contribute to “Realization of a free and comfortable mobilitysociety” through business activities.

FUJITSU TEN has been involved in vehicle businesssince its establishment, and is now a unique companyhaving three business areas relevant to vehicles: CI(Comfort & Convenience); AS (Security & Safety); andAE (Environment). We set our social responsibility tocontribute to “Realization of a free and comfortablemobility society” through business activities.

Business situation around us is changing rapidly today. In the field of vehicle electronic systems of a major CIbusiness, the development for connecting to thevehicle control systems and smartphones is movinginto full swing. As for the electronic control parts in ASand AE businesses, in developing countries wheremore vehicles are becoming available, the increase ofdemand for low-cost safety and security devices isexpected. While in developed countries where thecontrol on vehicle environment and safety is beingtightened, more advanced and high-tech security andsafety systems are now desired.

These circumstances will provide us the greatopportunity to utilize our strengths in three businessareas mentioned above for our continuous contributionto society. We set our new business policy “Vision2022” lastOctober, creating our vision for the future, so as tofundamentally reform our business with challenges tonew business areas. We will focus on “Vehicle-ICT” enhancing the addedvalue of vehicles in three areas: “Comfort &Convenience”; “Security & Safety”; and “Environment,”taking advantage of ICT that is FUJITSU group’sstrength, so that we can

contribute to the realization of the free and comfortablemobility society connecting between humans andvehicles, and also vehicles and their society. Each ofus employees in this company is the person whoimplements these visions. I expect that we will activelyutilize our diversity in business, which will enhancecompany competitiveness and grow our company, aswell as bringing individual growth and satisfaction.I think that the diversity is not “to eliminate each other’sdifferences,” but “to utilize individual differentstrengths.” Under the globalized business, each siteoutside Japan shall take advantage of its own strength, instead of following what has been done in Japan.

*2 Scope3

We have established the environmental mid- to long-term vision in March2013 to clarify the mid- to long-term role and goals of FUJITSU TEN Grouptoward the realization of a sustainable society. This vision sets three goals for 1. Contributions to customers and society,2. Pursue internal reforms, 3. Commit to biodiversity, centering on theFujitsu Group's environmental vision: "Green Policy 2020."While we will aim to peak out CO2 by 2022 and to reduce by half by 2050

as the goals of reducing our environmental load, we define our mission as"building a better relationship of people with vehicles and the environment",as an automotive related company. Thus, we will promote contributions to

green mobility by developing the environmental contribution products(*)

such as HV (hybrid vehicle) / EV (electric vehicle) control ECUs.

Numerical target

We will contribute to society by promoting the better relationships of people with vehicles and theenvironment.

We recognize the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2050 as a social supreme proposition.Toward achieving the goal, along with the reduction of our environmental load, by the development ofenvironmental contribution products and eco-friendly products, we will make our best efforts to do what wecan do to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, in collaboration with customers and society.

・Reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% compared to fiscal 2011

*Environmental cotribution products

A product that can contribute to the reduction of the environmental loads in other products and systems

by the use of the product. In Fujitsu Ten Group, it refers to the product that contributes to automotive

energy saving and clean energy, such as HV control ECU, EV control ECU, and engine control ECU.

In contributing to the emergence of a recycle-based society,we are working to reduce waste and achieve zeroemissions* based on the theme of "3Rs" (reduce, reuse,

recyle).*At the FUjitsu Ten Group, "zero emissions" represents the elimination of non-

usable waste, such as refuse that is incinerated or disposed of as landfill

without a benenficial use, through the application of the "3Rs".

Wate emissions in Japanese sites has reduced by 24.5%below fiscal 2009 levels (1,285t), which has achieved thetarget of "Reduce by 12% below fiscal 2009 levels". In themeanwhile, waste emission per production oupt hasincreased due to the transfer of production to overseas site.

For overseas, on the other hand, waste emissions per

production ouptut has reduced by 4.2% (0.207t/billion yen)below fiscal 2009 levels, which has not achieved the targetof "reduce by 18.9% below fiscal 2009 levels".

CO2 emission as a result of energy consumption in Japan

was reduced by 20.6% below fiscal 2009 levels, which hasachieved the target of "reduce by 2.3 % below fiscal 2009levels". However, CO2 emission per production output has

increased due to the transfer of production to overseas sites. As for overseas, CO2 emission per production output in

overseas has decreased by 25.4% below fiscal 2009 levelswhich is 2.711 t- CO2/ billion yen, which has achieved the

target of "reduction by 16.5 % below fiscal 2009 levels".

*Note on CO₂ emission factor:

In Japan: Adopted Fujitsu group unified factor

Outsite Japan: Country-specific electric power emission factor

of the Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association.

In order to reduce CO2 emission that causes global

warming, we introduce energy-saving facilities, energy-saving activities in offices, and streamlining of productionand business operation.

Principal Environmental Performance Data for FY2012

■ Hazardouw Material Reduction Measures

Initiatives for fiscal 2012

Regarding substances subject to the Pollutant Release and TransferRegister (PRTR), we are implementing reduction measures for lead, silver, toluene, and xylene (of which we use large amounts). We arealso reducing the use of isopropyl alcohol (IPA), a volatile organiccompound (VOC) that we use in relatively large amounts. The expansion of the lead-free applied models lead to reduction of useof hazardous substances in the entire group in comparison with lastfiscal year, but the unit of production was slightly increased due to theproduction volume reduction. IPA consumtion in Japan, on the otherhand, reduced drastically owing to switchover to alternative chemical.

■ Global Warming Measures ■ Waste Reduction Measures

Initiatives for fiscal 2012

The Fujitsu Ten Group undertakes assessments of all chemicalproducts used in all our domestic and international locations. Weimplement measures to reduce the use of chemicals if identified ascarrying a high environmental risk.
