Microsoft Excel 97, 2000, 2003, or XP installed on the client PC. For Web ADI to work with Microsoft Excel XP/2003, you must change the macro settings for Excel XP/2003. To do so:

In Excel, go to Tools > Macro > Security > Trusted Sources.

Select the "Trust access to Visual Basic Project" option.

To allow spreadsheets to be created on your desktop, change your intranet browser security settings as follows:

Navigate to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level.

Set the "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" option to "Prompt".

An integrator is a set of metadata that encapsulates all the information needed to integrate a particular Oracle E-Business Suite task with a desktop application

Use the integrator definition wizard to create a new integrator, update an existing integrator, or view the definition for an existing integrator.

It decides the nature of ADI, means weather the loader will target a table of control will be handled by API.

ADI Layout is nothing but the template in which data to be upload.

It contains all the input data parameters and their data types.

Oracle contains various seeded layouts and developer can also create their custom layouts as per the requirement.

Web ADI security is based on the access permissions to the application that the logged in user has.

Access to parent campaigns should be based on team access security restrictions

When the Update process is invoked to process data from a spreadsheet saved earlier, logged in users can update only those activities to which they have access.

For export of activities and media planner, you should set the macros security level to Medium in Microsoft Excel.

Security Requirements



The DIF is not packaged with R12.1.2 by default, and needs to be installed. To install the DIF apply patch 9055234. This will provide a new responsibility entitled ‘Desktop Integration Manager’. It might also be worth installing patch 9366099 at this stage which fixes some known issues with the DIF. Please also read My Oracle Support note 549758.1 to ensure that your system profile options are correctly set.
