All entries are made subject to the Rules and Regulations and by-laws of the RAS and West Otago A&P Society. Exhibitors or persons entering this show shall be deemed to accept and be bound by these By-Laws Regulations and procedures.1. All entries to be made in writing on the official entry form or via www.showdayonline.com, and should be lodged with the Secretary before 10 pm on Sunday 17th NOVEMBER 2019.2. Exhibitors are specially requested to forward their entries as early as possible, and thus facilitate the preparation of the Show Catalogue, and to state in legible figures the number of the class in which each exhibit is to be placed.3. Late entries will incur a penalty of $20 per exhibitor.4. Entry forms must be filled in by the exhibitor or some person authorised by him or her, and no entry will be received except on the express condition that the exhibitor will comply with and submit to the Rules of the Society in all respects. A copy of the Rules can be had at any time on application to the Secretary, for a fee of $10. Unsigned entry forms agreeing to these conditions will not be accepted, unless received via www.showdayonline.com, when the process of entering is deemed as accepting the Rules and Regulations and by-laws of the RAS and West Otago Society.5. All entries must be made in the name of the bona-fide owner of the exhibits.6. The ages of all stock must date from August 1st in each year, except Cattle – June 1st.7. Persons in charge of exhibits must produce their entry tickets to the gatekeeper.8. An entry fee will be charged to competitors in Sheep and Cattle of $6.00 unless otherwise specified. Horses entry fee will be $7.00. All exhibitors are required to pay a $5.00 administration fee – this includes the cost of St Johns and a Catalogue.9. All exhibitors of stock will need to provide their own forage.MEMBERSHIP10. Gates will be open to the public at 9 am and will be closed at 5 pm. The prices for admission will be: -Adults $15; Children under 16 free; Vehicles N/C11. On payment of the annual fee of $20 for the year a ticket will be given which will admit two adults & family under 16 years of age, on presentation to all the Society's exhibitions during the year.PRIZES12. Standard points for all most points presented are: -Where there are five entries or more: 1st…6 points – 2nd …4 points – 3rd …2 points – 4th…1 point. Where there are less than five entries: 1st…6 points – 2nd…4 points – 3rd…2 points – 4th …nil. Champion 2 points extra Reserve Champion 1 point extra. In special classes points do not count. In classes where there is only one exhibitor points count half. In the event of a tie for any cup or trophy the winner of he greatest number of first prizes takes precedence. Points for trophies presented prior to the 1960 Show will be awarded as set out in rules when trophy presented.13. Whilst all cups and trophies will be presented when awarded, they are to be returned to the steward prior to winner leaving the ring.14. Any prize awarded shall lapse if not applied for within three months from date of award.15. The Committee reserve the right to allot specials in lieu of prize money mentioned in this programme.16. All prizewinners are to parade. Equestrian exhibitors will forfeit Prize Money if they do not parade. 17. No games of chance or gambling of any kind will be allowed within the Ring.18. No person to make any drawing of stock or machinery without the consent of the owner, obtained through the Secretary.19. The Committee will not, under any circumstances, hold themselves responsible for any loss, damage, or misdelivery of stock, implements, or other articles exhibited or taken on to the Showground.20. Supreme Awards for Sheep, Cattle, Equestrian (Miniature, Horse and Pony), Trade Display and Show Market will be awarded after the Opening Speech at the Grand Parade.21. HEALTH & SAFETY - In the event of an accident and/or injury there are qualified St John Ofiicers on site at all time. All accidents and near misses must be reported to the Secretary's Office and recorded in the Near Misses and Accidents register.Grand Parade will be held at 12.30 pm approx.

CATTLE - Nait 444248West Otago A&P NAIT number: 444248. Cattle entries will be limited due to space constraints and protocols in place to keep cattle safe. It is the exhibitors responsibility to notify NAIT when bringing an animal to the Show, and again when you take it home. The Show will not be communicating i.d's to NAIT.Cattle not NAIT transferred will not be eligible to Show.All entries must be to the secretary by Friday 15th November 2019.All led Bulls (born before 31 December last) must have a ring through the nose and be led by two leads and be under adequate supervision. It is compulsory that all Beef Females (born before 31 December last) be led by a halter and nose clip. Two Handlers are allowed with Senior Bulls whilst they are parading in the Show Ring.TBAll animals entered for showing must be from a current TB Clear Status herd. A copy of the current TB test certificate must be attached to the entry form. The Society must be notified at the time of entry of any testing to be carried out after the closing date of entries or of any potential TB issues that may arise after entries have been submitted. Owners entering cattle must sign any declaration printed on the entry form.There are two documents required under the Animal Health Board regulations.First document is a TB Test Certificate. For animals from a Declared Movement Control Area - all animals aged three months or older are to be tested and have a clear test within 60 days prior to being moved to the Show. All other animals must be from a herd that is up to date with it's current routine TB testing requirements.Second document is a TB Animal Status Declaration Card. all animals entered must be accompanied in transit by a signed and dated TB Animals Status Declaration Card showing a TB Clear status in accordance with present legislation. Animal individual numbers must be included on the TB test sheet. these cards may be inspected at the unloading area.It is a requirement that ALL cattle over the age of 30 days will be correctly identified using an official primary and secondary ear tag from the AHB or MINDA identification programme as implemented on 1 July 1999.All cattle must have in their ears the official primary and secondary ear tags.All classes in which cows in milk are entered must be judged first, and all other stock will be judged in order it appears in the catalogue.All cattle must be named on entry form, and birth date and NAIT number given.Highland Cattle: A valid RAS Highland passport must accompany Highland cattle entries into the Royal Event classes. Entries received without a passport will not be accepted.

For this purpose the Champion of each breed shall be paraded in the judging ring. 2. Each judge will be issued with a card on which he will enter his first, second, third and fourth awards. At the conclusion of the judging these cards will be handed to the Senior Steward who will award points of six, four, two and one on each card. The animal then gaining the most points will be the winner. Should there be a tie in the number of points the animal with the most firsts will win. The Stewards shall then line the animals up in the order in which each judge has judged them and the judges name shall be announced. Finally, the animals shall be lined up in order of placing in accordance with the number of points gained. 3. will be available on the day.The use of Prefixes on Horses and Ponies must be those of the Breeder.Novice saddle ponies may be ridden in novice classes by any age rider, including adultsNovice horses/ponies must carry their performance cards - FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN ELIMINATION.The classification (section nominated) of a horse or pony must be made at the time of its first adult measure; however a change to this classification (section nominated) (with the exceptions listed in rule CDE 1 d) may be made by making application to RAS Head Office (download the application from the website www.ras.org.nz). Any subsequent changes will require a full submission with the final decision on granting further changes resting with the RAS Executive.Regardless of Rule CDE 1 c), equestrian title winners, of open conformation titles, at Royal A&P Shows/Events, Showing Championships endorsed by the RAS or HOY are not entitled to change classification (section) after winning a title class at any of these events and must stay within their nominated classification (section) with the exception if the horse/pony is under eight (8) years of age, a change of classification may be made upon application to and approval of, the RAS Executive.MARES-'Dry' mare is a mare not to foal during the current show season (1 August to 31 July).-Mares shown in Brood Mare classes must have a foal at foot or present a veterinary certificate of pregnancy that includes a projected foaling date. Mares shown in the summer season without a foal at foot, would be expected (before Christmas) to be late foaling in the summer or autumn, or (after Christmas) to have weaned an early foal and be back in foal with a spring due date. Mare falling into either of the above categories should prove their eligibility with a veterinary certificate. Anything less will be unacceptable.-Broodmares with foal at foot are ineligible for ridden and harness classes.STALLIONS & COLTS-All stallions and colts (with the exception of Miniature horses and foals) must be shown in a bit.-A Steward will order any stallion/colt considered out of control or to be causing undue disquiet to other horses from the ring without recourse from the stallion/colt's owner/exhibitor/competitor.-It is compulsory for all stallions and colts, except foals, to wear two (2) official 'S' identification badges, one attached to each side of their bridle, at all Shows/Events at all times.
