VICTORIA AND ALFRED WATERFRONTThe V&A Waterfront with all its restaurants, bars, shops, movies, museums and much, much more is situated in the Victoria Basin in the harbor area and is visited by more tourists then any other place is South Africa. The V&A offers the tourist an unforgettable experience in shopping, cuisine and South African hospitality in general.

TABLE MOUNTAINTable Mountain Cable Way running from the foot of the mountain to the top is a sure must as the spectacular view is unequaled anywhere in the world. The mountain itself is a national park and host some 6000 species of fynbos (flora) found nowhere else on the planet which makes it also a world heritage site. The mountain itself is accessible through the cable way or the various hiking trails around the Peninsula.

ROBBEN ISLANDRobben Island was the home of ex President Nelson Mandela for twenty seven years during the apartheid years and now a national monument - not to be missed. Hourly trips from the Nelson Mandela Museum at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront will take you to the island which has become a beacon of hope in the new South Africa. The tour will take you through the old prison and cell of Madiba. However Robben Island is not all about political prisoners but also about conservation and hosts one of the largest African Penguin populations, a threatened specious.

DISTRICT SIX MUSEUMDistrict Six Museum gives you a further glimpse into apartheid and the forceful removal of a people from their land. It also gives you a look into the colorful history of district six and the people who lived there.

GOOD HOPE CASTLEThe Castle of Good Hope situated close to the City Hall, just down the street from the District Six Museum dates back three centuries ago when the first Europeans from the Dutch East Indian Company set up a halfway house on their route to the Far East. Today it hosts fine restaurants and art galleries depicting the vast array of cultures that make up our wonderful country.

COMPANY GARDENSAt the top of Adderley Street, a few blocks away from the Castle of Good Hope is the Company Gardens which also dates back a few centuries to the Dutch East Indian Company’s time. Today however it is host to the National Arts Gallery as well as the South African National Museum. One of the neighboring buildings is the South African Parliament.

ATLANTIC SEABOARDFurther afield on the west side of the Peninsula is Cape Town’s famous Clifton and Camps Bay beaches renowned for its stunning surroundings as well as its beautiful people. It is also home to "The Republic of Hout Bay" a little Fisherman’s village and Chapman’s Peak. Build by prisoners of war in the previous century, it is most definitely one of the world’s most scenic drives. While in Hout Bay take a boat trip to Seal Island and visit one of the largest Cape Fur seal colonies in the world or watch sharks leap out of the ocean to feed. The only place known to mankind of this strange behavior of the sharks.

CAPE POINTLeaving Chapman’s Peak behind and visiting Cape Point, the most southern point of the Cape Peninsula is a definite must as this is where the two oceans, the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans meet. This conservation area is breathtaking and will leave an impression that will stay with you forever. If there ever was and end of the world, this would be it…..

SIMON'S TOWNComing around the Eastern side of the Peninsula on the False Bay side you can visit Simon’s Town home to the South African Navy. This historic little town has got stunning views of False Bay, home to the Great White Shark. South Africa is the only country in the world where this shark is a protected specious. Legend has it that there is a great white shark in the False Bay Area that is so big that the locals has dubbed him the "SUB" – Visit the penguins on Boulders beach.

TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM Located in the V&A Waterfront, the Two Oceans Aquarium makes for a fascinating and exciting visit for the whole family. Offering a variety of display tanks, interactive experiences, a touch pool and the highly popular predators tank. The I&J Predator Exhibit contains 2.2 million litres of seawater and is one of the most dramatic exhibits in the Aquarium. There are several great viewing points including the semi-tunnel which hugs the perimeter of the exhibit - offering a spine-tingling encounter as sharks swim overhead. Ragged-tooth sharks; shoals of yellowtail, garrick and many other fishes; several species of rays and a turtle are visible through an enormous 11 metre wide by 4 metre high acrylic panel.

KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENSNestled at the foot of Table Mountain is Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens which will be a relaxing and tranquil experience to any tired traveler. This world renowned garden is host to a range of South African flora. The Botanical Garden is also renowned for its research it does to protect some of the most endangered specious of plants found in the Peninsula.

WORLD OF BIRDS This is the largest bird park in Africa and one of the few large bird parks in the World.Over 3 000 birds (and small animals) of 400 different species are uniquely presented in more than 100 spacious landscaped walk through aviaries, allowing you the most intimate closeness with nature.
