The President’s Corner By William Purkey

Dear ONSD Officers and Chairs, It is with sadness that I announce my upcoming resignation as President of there Old North State Detectorists.   I will officially resign at the conclusion of the June 28 regularly scheduled meeting. ONSD is a great club. The reason I am resigning is that my family and I are moving from Greensboro to Clemmens, North Carolina.  I intend to maintain my membership, and continue to cheer the ONSD as it becomes one of the best clubs in the US and Canada. According to the bylaws, the Vice-resident, Rodney Joslin, will serve as President until the next election. If the proposed amendment on establishing an ONSD Board of

Directors is approved on Saturday, I will proceed immediately to appoint a nominations committee for both the Vice President vacancy and the new five member Board. The election will be held at the June 28 meeting. The elected members will serve until January, 2015.   With appreciation to everyone who allowed me to lead during the first five years of a great club.  You are a great group of guys & gals. (Sent May 21, 2014)                     William
