MondayDate: 11/16/20

Daily Focus: The teacher will introduce the unit “all about me” and describe how we are going to keep learning about ourselves and our friends in class. Everyone is unique and special! We will go over the “I Am special” song and movements with the students. The teacher will tell the students that we are all special, and in order to keep us healthy, we need to eat! Why do we eat? We eat in order to give our bodies the food they need to make us big and strong. Everyday, we need food and water to stay healthy. The teacher will introduce “my plate” and will tell students that this will help us learn about what we should eat to keep us big and strong. The teacher will go over each section of “my plate” (protein, grains, fruits, vegetables). The students will help the teacher categorize pictures of different foods onto the picture of the plate. The teacher will emphasize the idea that in order for us to stay healthy, we need to eat these 4 groups of food everyday.

Discuss how we eat food to keep us healthy and strong.

keep us healthy? The teacher will ask the students and create a list of things they like to drink (water, juice, soda, milk, etc.) The teacher will have pictures of these drinks to help students identify them. The teacher will emphasize that while we like to drink juice and soda, we need to drink water more because it helps our bodies stay healthy.
