Recap of the Week! Reading- We worked hard on making connections, predictions, and asking questions this week. We wrapped up our week talking about metacognition. We will continue focusing on metacognition (thinking about our thinking) next week! Writing-We have been busy drafting our personal narratives this week! It has been a wonderful process and I am so proud of the kids. We will continue drafting next week. We will focus on adding transition words, strong feelings, and using interesting word choices.Math-We took our first official math facts test today! We will continue working through those each Friday (or end of the week if we don’t have school on a particular Friday!) We will continue our focus on unit 2. We are working our way through story problems and will focus our attention
On different addition and subtraction algorithms next week. Spelling-We started new sorts this week. We will continue practicing these sorts next week and will take a test on Friday! Science- We wrapped up our animal project today! We are going to guess which animal belongs to its description in a fun activity next week! We will wrap up chapter 2 next week. We will talk more about animal adaptations, learned versus inherited behavior, and classification of animals. Social Studies-We are going to focus on map skills next week! The kids enjoyed doing some work with our dry erase maps this week and we will use those next week as well.
