Suggested activities to support home learning Nursery - Spring 1

Maths English TopicThis week we are going to think about weight and measures.Have a look around your house to see if you can find something heavy and something light. Can you draw what you find and write the words ‘heavy’ or ‘light’ under the correct picture.

Choose a selection of toys and put them in front of you. Put the toys in order of height, from the shortest to the tallest

WellbeingCreate a calm jarIf you have any of these things at home, you could have a go at making a calm jar. Please don’t worry if you don’t have all of them.A clean, empty jar/bottleWaterGlitter glueGlitter/ shapes/ sequinsFood colouringFill the jar almost to the top with water then add the glitter glue and any shapes/sequins you like. Screw the lid on tightly.

PSHEWorry BoxAt this strange time, we will be experiencing lots of different feelings. Some of our feelings make us feel good on the inside and others do not. Talking to someone at home about the different feelings you are having can help.

Make a worry box out of any box you can find at home and every time you feel worried draw a picture to show what is worrying you and put it in the box.

Today can you please practise writing your numbers. Try and write as many as you can! Remember to check they are the right way round!
