Entire PIM expert team on hand at leading international
trade fair
A pioneer in the PIM sector with decades of experience
and its own PIM laboratory
The ceramitec leading international trade fair will be
held in Munich from 20 to 23 October 2015. Arburg will be
represented at the joint stand CERAMIC APPLICATIONS. The
entire PIM expert team will be on hand to present the
extensive range of Arburg products and services in the PIM
sector and to provide trade visitors with individual
consulting.
Arburg is a pioneer in the injection moulding of plastics
as well as metal and ceramic powders. At the ceramitec
2015, Arburg is presenting trends in powder injection
moulding, explaining the potential of this innovative
process to interested parties and providing in-depth
answers to specific questions.
Allrounders for powder processing
Basically, the same machines used in plastics processing
are also suitable for powder injection moulding. The
special equipment required by the Allrounders for PIM
processing includes, for example, a highly wear-resistant
cylinder module, a special screw geometry adapted to
powder injection moulding and a position-regulated screw.
The product range, which is produced on Allrounders,
extends from micro gear wheels with an external diameter
of 1,4 mm to ceramic cores for stationary gas turbines
weighing up to 2 kg. New materials, mould and machine
technology are opening the door to a growing number of
innovative PIM applications in a diverse range of
industries.
PIM laboratory covers all process steps
The company headquarters in Lossburg are home to an
excellently-equipped laboratory, in which Arburg is
continually developing new areas of application for the
PIM process. All upstream and downstream production steps
such as material preparation, debinding, sintering and
part analyses can be tested there under practical
conditions. Equipment includes a shearing and rolling
extruder, debinding systems, sintering ovens and a device
for simultaneous thermal analysis. This comprehensive
range is complemented by automation solutions,
application-specific consulting and special PIM training
courses that are held in Lossburg and around the world
wherever required.
