Maths

Plan your trip to the zoo. Things to think about:

1. Getting there, use your knowledge of time, to plan how long it will take you to travel to the zoo. How will you get there and back. Car, bus, train. Look at some timetables to help you plan this.

2. How much MONEY will you need. How much does it cost to get it, do you need to buy food?

3. Look at maps of the zoo, think about what you might like to see first. How could you direct someone around the zoo?

Writing

Create an information leaflet about your own zoo. Remember to include; pictures, opening times, prices, web address, social media contacts and any reviews!

Remember to make this eye catching to encourage people to choose your zoo.

Health and Well-being

Pack your bag, what do you need to take with you to the zoo for your day out? Think about different types of weather.

Maths Challenge

Carry on playing Sumdog games this week! Check out this week’s challenge!

Literacy

Research 3 of your favourite animals, research what they would need to live happily at your zoo, think about what you know about habitats. Make this into a list or tell a family member about it.

Social Studies

Make a map of the layout of your zoo, remember to include; food zones, play areas, toilets and gift shop. Think about how much space the animals would need.

Expressive Arts

Design a new animal to introduce to your zoo. It’s only just been discovered! Think about whether it has fur, scales or skin. What colour would it be, is it camouflage? What does it eat?

STEM

On your daily walk collect natural materials to create a birds nest. Where can you put it to attract birds, watch what happens.
