Strawberry - Fragaria × ananassaStrawberry is a dicot because:

Has more than one leaf developed by the embryo plant

Leaf veins are branching and networked

Has a taproot system

Strawberry components

STRAWBERRY’S ROOTS

-are tap roots

Functions of roots:

Roots absorb water and minerals from the soil Roots bind the soil particles together enables the plant to anchor better to the soil

Functions of stems:

it supports and holds leaves, flowers and fruits conduct the water and minerals from the roots to leaves, flowers and fruits

LEAVES- net like

Leaves have the following key functions:

manufacturing food – plants can make their own food by photosynthesis transpiration – excess water absorbed by the roots is lost through the leaves gaseous exchange – exchange of gases that occurs during transpiration and

photosynthesis

FLOWER

Anther is the part of the stamen where pollen is produced. Anther is supported by filaments.

Stigma is the receptive part of the carpel that traps pollen then it will produce pollen tube that grows down through the style until it reaches an ovule in the ovary.

FRUIT

The fruits are fragrant and sweet tasting thus becoming attractive food for animals and insects. The function of the fruit is to aid in seed dispersal.
